Plastics, Polymers and Resins, Polypropylene (PP), Polystyrene (PS), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), Polyester, PA, Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), Polyurethanes (PU), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyethylene (PE)Projects

Plastics have revolutionized our lives, creeping into every nook and corner of our homes and offices. However, India’s per capita consumption of plastics is still 6 kg compared to 25 kg in developed countries. Consumer plastics mainly comprise polymers such as polypropylene, high and low density polyethylene, and vinyl chloride. Broadly plastics can be classified into two types namely Thermosetting and Thermoplastic. The type of plastics includes HDPE, LDPE, PVC, PP, PS, PETE and vinyl plastics, to name a few.

The plastics industry is highly fragmented. There are about 22,000 plastic processing units, of which three-fourth are in the small –scale sector, which also accounts for a quarter of the total polymer consumption. About 30 per cent of the total polymer consumption accounts for recycled plastic. Plastics have a high volume –to-weight ratio, which makes their collection and transport a major cost factor.

The Indian plastics industry has been growing at a phenomenal rate of 15 per cent over the years. Thus its potential is being utilized properly. The boost in the plastics industry is due to the rapid growth of segments like electronics, packaging, healthcare, consumer durables and telecommunication sectors.Annually around six million tonnes of plastic is produced in the country, with the plastic packaging sector growing fastest.

Reliance Industries Ltd., Gas Authority of India and petrochemicals are major producers of polymers in India. RIL, Asia’s largest manufacturer of polypropylene with a combined capacity of over one million tonnes, holds 70 per cent market share.

India will be the third largest plastics consumer after the US and China by 2010 at over 12 million.Plastic goods consumption is expected to double in the next three years.  Experts have predicted that India’s market for finished plastic goods will reach $300 billion by 2012, while exports are expected to reach a level of $200 billion in the same period. India ranks highest in recycling of plastics with 60 per cent of plastic recycled compared with a world average of 20 per cent. Experts have estimated thatthe basic demand for plastic would be boosted over the next years by the housing, automobile and retail sectors.

Fiber Optical Cables - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

An optical fiber (or optical fibre) is a flexible, transparent fiber made of extruded glass (silica) or plastic, slightly thicker than a human hair. It can function as a waveguide, or “light pipe”, to transmit light between the two ends of the fiber.Power over Fiber (PoF) optic cables can also work to deliver an electric current for low-power electric devices. The field of applied science and engineering concerned with the design and application of optical fibers is known as fiber optics. Optical fibers are widely used in fiber-optic communications, where they permit transmission over longer distances and at higher bandwidths (data rates) than wire cables. Fibers are used instead of metal wires because signals travel along them with less loss and are also immune to electromagnetic interference. Fibers are also used for illumination, and are wrapped in bundles so that they may be used to carry images, thus allowing viewing in confined spaces. Specially designed fibers are used for a variety of other applications, including sensors and fiber lasers. The extensive use of fiber optic cables in the telecommunications industry has provided the technological and economical platform for practical deployment in many other applications. Current industries using fiber optic cables for demanding security applications include: Aerospace , Bridges , Nuclear Facilities ,Highways and Traffic Intersections , Department of Energy and other areas also. Despite enormous potential generated by the growth of the end-user segments, the cable industry (both sectors - power and telecom cables) has remained sluggish. In the telecom sector, the processes of private entry encountered several policy roadblocks in the early stages. None-theless, the industry is on the move with the telecom sector getting globalised and transformed technologically with the shift from jelly-filled (JFTC) to optic fibre cables (OFC). Out of the total market of telecom cables, JFTC accounts for over two-third, while the balance goes to the optic fibre cables. The industry recorded a very impressive growth of 115% in 2004-05 over the preceding year. Thus, Fiber Optical Cables is a good project for entrepreneurs to invest. Blood bag is a disposable bio-medical device used for collection, storage, transportation and transfusion of human blood and blood components. The system consists of a single or multiple bag connected with tubings, needle, needle cover, clamp etc. The Blood Bags are made of plastic-material, which are compatible with blood. The introduction of flexible PVC bags for the storage of blood and its components totally replaced the use of glass bottles because of its numerous advantages. Blood bags enable better separation of blood components in a more sterile manner and safer transfusion of components. This has led to increasingly wider use of blood component therapy than whole blood use, thus enabling more effective use of the scarce donor blood that is available. Blood Bags can successfully replace the use of glass bottles for collection storage, transportation and transfusion of blood and blood components since bottles require exhaustive cleaning, rinsing and autoclaving procedures and there are chances of breakage at any stage. Further, use of disposable bags eliminates the possibility of any contamination. Blood bags contain an anticoagulant solution and a red blood cell preservative solution, and are used in blood banks which both collect donor blood and separate blood components. Blood bags are made from imported, medical grade PVC granules & sheets in Class 10000 Clean room environments. Increase in the healthcare facilities will further act as a driver for the growth of medical devices sector in India. The blood bag market is expected to grow further in the coming years owing to continuous developments and rising demand for better blood collection technology. Plastic (HDPE, PVC, UPVC) Pipes - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost & Revenue

Plastic (HDPE, PVC, UPVC and RCC) Pipes [NPCS/4771/22821, 22826] PVC pipes are made out of a material known as polyvinyl chloride, a durable, strong plastic-like substance. Pipes are constructed from this material and used in various applications from plumbing to construction. The pipe is designed to be universal. All pipes are designed around specific requirements to ensure that multiple pipe sections will fit together. The ends of the pipe can either be smooth or grooved (similar to a screw). Because PVC pipes are used in many housing and commercial construction applications, it is important that each pipe is tested to ensure quality. UPVC pipes offer the most hygienic means of fluid transportation. They are highly capable in fighting attacks by fungi and are not subject to contamination. The inside surface which is extremely smooth, does not support any growth, encrustation or fuming, and no odour or taste is transmitted to the fluid being conveyed. This property is of prime importance for the transportation of potable water to towns and villages. The PVC pipes are much lighter than cast iron or A.C pipes. Because of their light weight PVC pipes are easy to handle, transport, and install. Solvent cementing techniques for jointing PVC pipe lengths is cheaper, more efficient and far simpler. PVC pipes do not become pitted or tuberculated and are unaffected by fungi and bacteria and are resistant to a wide range of chemicals. They are immune to galvanic and electrolytic attack, a problem frequently encountered in metal pipes especially when buried in corrosive soils or near brackish waters. PVC pipes have elastic properties and their resistance to deformation resulting from earth movements is superior compared to conventional pipe materials especially asbestos. PVC pipes and fittings market in India has grown at a CAGR of 12.5% during the period from FY’2009-FY’2014. In the past few years, government of India has initiated many new projects and investments in the irrigation sector. The focus of the government is on rural water management, which will be fulfilled only when there will be proper infrastructure for the transportation of water to the end-user. This factor will remain as one of the major drivers for the growth of PVC pipe industry in the country along with the expansion of housing sector and increasing demand for oil and gas transportation.
