Pipes and Tubes Based Projects

Pipes and tubes are an important part in our surrounding. Pipe of all types and sizes is critical in building, construction, chemical, energy, and other industrial applications. The pipe and tubes industry is expected to experience considerable change and varying growth rates in these uncertain economic times. The global export market of the steel pipes is stated to be close to $27 billion a year with the US, Western Europe, Australia, and Japan being the biggest importers. India is one of the major exporting nations including Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Steel pipe industry in India consists of firms mainly engaged in manufacturing seamless or welded steel pipes or tubes or ferrous metal pipe or tube fittings. Growing oil and gas demand across the world and the zeal with which oil companies are investing on adding pipeline infrastructure promise higher revenues for Indian steel pipes makers. A huge pent-up demand for pipes has cropped up over the last few months. For the refining industry, pipes are the most economical way to transport oil and gas.

Considering the quantum and nature of consumption, the major end-uses of seamless tubes/pipes have broadly been classified under the following heads: Oil and gas exploration, tool jointing material, refinery, anti-friction bearing industry, industrial boilers, anti-friction bearing industry, power boiler industry, automobile, earthmoving machinery, fertilizers, miscellaneous industries etc.

The building & construction industries along with the oil & gas sector are the major market places for pipe. With the construction market booming and further development of new markets http://konac.kontera.com/javascript/lib/imgs/grey_loader.gif

for steel pipes ranging from commercial framing to water pipes, the future of steel tubing industry certainly looks bright. Significant consolidation and rationalization of excess capacity has occurred in some segments, while cost containment and improved process and quality control measures have led to productivity gains and quality improvements across the entire pipe industry.
The five major steel producers in India include Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Tata Iron and Steel, Jindal Vijaynagar Steel (JVSL), Essar Steel and Ispat Industries.

The coming years will see production of more petroleum products and electrical energy are expected to pick up to meet the domestic demand and sustaining future supplies which would require heavy investment in E&P activities and power projects which would drive the demand for seamless pipes and tubes. In order to exploit the full potential of the domestic as well as overseas markets, the Indian pipe manufacturers should focus on continuous quality. Apart from that the feasibility of infrastructure projects in ports, roads, airports and railways with private-sector majority ownership is already in the pipeline.

Cast Iron Earth Pipes with Flanges - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities

Most of the old Cast Iron pipes are cast vertically but this type has been largely superseded by spun iron type manufactured up to a diameter of 900 mm. Though the cast iron pipe has the disadvantages of heavy weight, and consequent high transport costs, short length, leading to higher laying and jointing cost, low tensile strength, liability to defect of inner surface, it is widely used because of its good lasting qualities. There are many examples of cast iron mains in this country which continue to give satisfactory services even after a century of use. Cast of Iron pipes and fittings are being made in this country for more than a century. The production capacity exceeds more than 3,00,000 tons per annum. Due to its strength and corrosion resistance, C.I. pipes can be used in soils and for water of slightly aggressive character. They are well suited for pressure mains and laterals where tapping are made for house connections. It is preferable to have coating inside and outside of the pipe. Pipe flanges are protruding rims, edges, ribs, or collars used to make a connection between two pipes or between a pipe and any type of fitting or equipment component. Pipe flanges are used for dismantling piping systems, temporary or mobile installations, transitions between dissimilar materials, and connections in environments not conducive to solvent cementing. Uses & Applications Cast iron soil pipe and fittings are used primarily in building construction for sanitary and storm drain, waste, and vent piping applications. The product is installed in residential construction, hospitals, schools, and in commercial and industrial structures. For this reason, the pattern of cast iron soil pipe shipments and sales is directly related to the pattern of building/construction activity. In buildings, the principal assembly of this piping is installed within the partitions and serves the tub, lavatory, and water closet fixtures. The main line in this assembly is the cast iron soil stack, which runs vertically from the building drain up through the structure and through the roof. Waste lines are connected to this main soil stack, and vent lines may also be tied in at a point above the highest fixture. Market Survey India needs to grow faster than the conservative assumption at a GDP close to 10 percent a year. Cities grow rapidly, there will be rapid population growth and industry specific developments relating to massive usage of ductile iron pipes. The real life expectancy of cast iron pipe is unknown, but is usually estimated at 100 years or more. The oldest operating cast iron main is that at Versailles, France, installed in 1664. In United States and in Canada there are more than 500 members of the Cast Iron Pipe Century Club, a unique organization composed of cities or utilities have cast iron pipe still in service after 100 years. In India, Electro steel Castings Limited (ECL) was the first to set up a Ductile Iron Pipe Plant. Ductile Iron Pipe, a product of advanced metallurgy, offers unique properties for conveying water under pressure, and other piping uses. ?

HDPE Pipes - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Provision of drinking water supply, or in other words `piped' water supply to urban and rural population, constitutes an important aspect of developmental programmes in many countries. Among several materials for pipes and fittings, plastics, though of recent origin, have offered vast potentialities both economical and technical, for exploitation by the engineers, architects and builders of the plastic materials, polyethylene (high density). These HDPE pipes and fittings have a high degree of corrosion resistance, are light in weight. Yet tough and durable, have excellent, hydraulic properties, excellent thermal properties, weather ability. High density polyethylene (HDPE) is being used as drainage pipe material because it is lightweight, corrosion resistant, easy to install, and has a low maintenance cost. The design of HDPE corrugated drainage pipe is based on the assumption that the pipe will deform and thus relieve stress. Consequently, ductility is an essential parameter to accommodate allowable deflection during the pipe’s service life. HDPE resins with low ductility can lead to unexpected cracking in the pipe, brought on by a process called slow crack growth. To minimize such cracking, the stress crack resistance (SCR) of HDPE resins must be properly evaluated. HDPE is very flexible and can endure harsher site handling than more brittle polymers like PVC. Flexibility also allows turns in the piping system without the need for additional joints. Uses and Applications The plastic pipes are replacing the conventional pipes because of many advantages they have over other piping systems. Some of the main advantages of plastic pipes systems are light weight, easy to handle and installation, better flow characteristics, corrosion and installation resistant, lower power requirement during water transmission, cheap in length to length cost. Plastic pipes are durable and may last for as long as 50 years or more. Following are the bulk consumers of HDPE/LDPE pipes and fittings in India: Central public works departments, State public works departments, Housing Boards, Urban development authority like DDA, M.E.S., Municipal Boards, Water Works and district boards, Department of atomic energy, Various Jal Nigam, Public Health departments, Process Industries and Power Houses etc. The main objectives of the use of plastics in agriculture are to increase the cultivated area; to improve the environment of the crop, thereby increasing quality and productivity; and to facilitate the transport and storage of the produce. In the broad sense, uses of plastics in agriculture may be classified into two main groups. The first group is much interesting which is for water management and allied areas like lining of reservoirs, ponds, canals; mulching; storage and shading areas on a large scale. The other group includes the application of plastics to replace traditional materials used in agriculture. Market Survey Plastics, a material of the new generation, has been growing up faster than was expected since the 1980s. With restrictions on the use of wood to conserve forests, its importance has grown phenomenally. Because of its light weight, ease in maintenance and natural sparkle, it is substituting not only wood but also metals and glass. The automobile industry, the white and brown goods and the packaging industries, all offer expanding prospects. Polymers are classified into thermoplastics and thermosettings. Thermoplastics include elastomers (unvulcanised), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polyurethane (PU) and other resins. Thermosettings include elastomers (vulcanised), polyethylene (crosslinked), phenolics, alkyds, polyesters. The industry has expanded along with expansion of diverse applications areas such as packaging, extrusions, blow mouldings and industrial mouldings for automobiles, telecommunications, white goods. User segments include electrical appliances, domesticware, leatherite, decorative laminates, fittings and fixtures, construction industry (extrusions), automobile components, machinery and equipment, water tanks, pipes and fittings, drink bottles, medical appliances, weather protection. The opportunities are also opening up with the expansion and sophistication of food pro cessing, automobiles, entertainment electronics and appliances. Besides these, industry's contributions have been vital in areas of rural electrification, telecommunication, horticulture, medicare, apart from a perceptible change in living styles and standards. Polymers have found uses in all spheres of life with demand for better materials, greater functional utility, more economical packaging and versatile and durable all weather products. Illustratively, the hilly regions of east India, or the drought prone districts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu demand moulded tanks in thousands.

E.R.W. Galvanized Steel Pipes - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

GI Pipes/ Galvanized pipes are steel pipes covered with a protective coating of zinc that greatly reduces its tendency to corrode and extends its life expectant galvanized steel tubes are covered by a layer of zinc & are used for varied applications. These are available in various size and shapes based on the customer’s requirements. These tubes are natural corrosion resistant and hold functional durability, even in outdoor environments. Apart from preventing water corrosion, it is equally effective in dry, indoor environments. Electric Resistance Welded Pipe uses the high frequency induction heating (HFI) process to manufacture pipes ranging in nominal diameter from 219 mm (8,58 inch) to 610 mm (24 inch), and in wall thickness. In order to ensure completely smooth pipes, welds are scarfed both internally and externally. Immediate confirmations of welds are assured as pipes pass through a multi-probe ultrasonic inspection system located after the welding and scarfing stations. Following ultrasonic assessment, weld joints are induction heated to normalize the metallic structure of the weld. Normalizing also improves toughness of the steel in the region and significantly decreases the weld line corrosion effect. Prior to hydrostatic testing, pipes are sized to required tolerances before being cut to length and the ends bevelled. Weld seams is again ultrasonically tested. Pipes are inspected, weighed and can be varnished and marked prior to final inspection and dispatch, or transferred to the coating and lining plants for corrosion protection treatment. Uses & Applications These are pipes suitable for irrigation and water supply, plumbing, cold storage applications, scaffolding, antenna and telecom towers, water wells etc. GI pipes for various purposes depending upon the requirements of our customers. These pipes and tubes find diverse applications in the following sectors: Air and Water Line - Main water supply, Plumbing / Pumping, Chilled Water Line, Sewerage, Firefighting equipment, Waste water conveying, Cooling tower, Air duct, Chimney, Compressed Air line, Refrigerated line, in cold storage, Gas piping LPG cylinder supporting ring, Chemical transportation. It may be used in residential water supply lines, but not gas lines because natural gas causes the zinc to flake off and clog the system. It's not frequently used for water supply lines because the minerals in the water react with the galvanizing material and form scale, which builds up over time and will eventually clog the pipe. For industrial purpose it could be used in Industrial water lines/plant piping, Waste waterlines, Scaffoldings, Electrical Cable conduits, Gas/Natural gas pipe lines, Oil pipe lines, Cooling towers, LPG & other non-toxic gas pipelines, Cold storages, Vehicular chassis and frames, Idlers & belt conveyors Market Survey Steel pipes are primarily of two types, seamless and welded. Plastic (HDPE, PVC, UPVC) Pipes - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost & Revenue

Plastic (HDPE, PVC, UPVC and RCC) Pipes [NPCS/4771/22821, 22826] PVC pipes are made out of a material known as polyvinyl chloride, a durable, strong plastic-like substance. Pipes are constructed from this material and used in various applications from plumbing to construction. The pipe is designed to be universal. All pipes are designed around specific requirements to ensure that multiple pipe sections will fit together. The ends of the pipe can either be smooth or grooved (similar to a screw). Because PVC pipes are used in many housing and commercial construction applications, it is important that each pipe is tested to ensure quality. UPVC pipes offer the most hygienic means of fluid transportation. They are highly capable in fighting attacks by fungi and are not subject to contamination. The inside surface which is extremely smooth, does not support any growth, encrustation or fuming, and no odour or taste is transmitted to the fluid being conveyed. This property is of prime importance for the transportation of potable water to towns and villages. The PVC pipes are much lighter than cast iron or A.C pipes. Because of their light weight PVC pipes are easy to handle, transport, and install. Solvent cementing techniques for jointing PVC pipe lengths is cheaper, more efficient and far simpler. PVC pipes do not become pitted or tuberculated and are unaffected by fungi and bacteria and are resistant to a wide range of chemicals. They are immune to galvanic and electrolytic attack, a problem frequently encountered in metal pipes especially when buried in corrosive soils or near brackish waters. PVC pipes have elastic properties and their resistance to deformation resulting from earth movements is superior compared to conventional pipe materials especially asbestos. PVC pipes and fittings market in India has grown at a CAGR of 12.5% during the period from FY’2009-FY’2014. In the past few years, government of India has initiated many new projects and investments in the irrigation sector. The focus of the government is on rural water management, which will be fulfilled only when there will be proper infrastructure for the transportation of water to the end-user. This factor will remain as one of the major drivers for the growth of PVC pipe industry in the country along with the expansion of housing sector and increasing demand for oil and gas transportation. Thus, due to demand it is a good project for entrepreneurs to invest. A collapsible tube is defined as a cylinder of pliable metal that can be sealed in such a manner that its contents, although readily discharged in any desired quantity, are protected from contact with air or moisture. Products so packaged must flow under pressure low enough not to damage the tube. Collapsible tubes are widely used as handy flexible packages for pastes and semi-liquids. As the tube is flattened out to expel its contents, the capacity of the tube is proportionately reduced without the introduction of air and the material in the tube does not suffer any deterioration. These are fabricated readily, and are strong enough to withstand processing, they are light in weight, easy to handle, and fairly cheap. They can be handled on high speed machines. This type of cans are properly sealed after filling the measured quantity, to keep the customer's faith on sealed material sealing also prevents dusting and other bad materials to mix with the product. Collapsible tubes are made from aluminium, tin coated lead, or lead tin alloy by cold extrusion. They consist of three parts, the main tube, a shoulder to one end of which a screened nozzle with orifice is fitted, and a molded cap to close the orifice, sometimes application of various design are attached to the nozzle with the help of mechanical or hand operated filling machines, the end is sealed by folding and crimping. Collapsible tubes were initially introduced for packing artists oil color. However, now its use has spread for packing a wide variety of products. These tubes are used for filling tooth paste, shaving creams, ointment and inks, etc. It is hygienic, non-toxic and non-absorbent and has a high heat transfer rate. Consequently, aluminium is an ideal tubing material for several process industry applications. Aluminium tubes look attractive in its natural state and its appearance can be further enhanced by a variety of finishes.
