Did you know that the global alcohol industry is worth more than 1,400 billion US Dollars? Well, you now know. In America, alcohol generates more than 250,000 Dollars in revenue annually.  Alcohol manufacturing is indeed a profitable and ever-growing industry.

Drinking practices vary substantially among different countries and different masses. But both alcoholic beverages are very popular among all ages of people. The alcoholic drinks market is broadly classified into five classes, starting from beers, wines, hard liquors, liqueurs and others. The Indian alcoholic market has been growing rapidly for the last ten years, due to the positive impact of demographic trends and expected changes like rising income levels, changing age profile, changing lifestyles and reduction in beverages prices. Beer and wine are perhaps the oldest and most popular of all alcoholic beverages in the world.

India’s country liquor industry is known for chaotic business, and estimated at Rs 220 billion, with annual volume sales of over 200 million cases. Of course, the India-made foreign liquor (IMFL) sales are pegged at around 150 million cases, and growing at 8 to 10 per cent annually. IMFL and country made liquor account for the bulk of alcoholic consumption. The Indian beer Industry has been witnessing a steady growth rate of 7-9 per cent per year for the last ten years.

Per capita beer consumption is still low at 0.7 litre per year. Though the current growth is pitched at 13 per cent, the total beer market is expected to more than double to 23.3 million hectoliters by 2012. Apart from Kingfisher and Foster’s Beer, the other brands in the Indian market are Carling Black Label, Carlsberg, Dansberg, Golden Eagle, Haywards 5000,Premium Lager, Kingfisher Strong, Hi-Five etc. to name a few. India has emerged as one of the fastest growing markets for wine consumption on the global map.

The Indian wines are growing annually at the rate of 25 per cent. With a population base of over 1.1 Billion, the consumption of wine is extremely low, indicating vast potential for future growth. Champagne Indage has been the pioneer in making French style wine in India. Grover Vineyards and Sula Vineyards too have made smart strides in a short time span. Recently, companies in the Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) space like Diageo, United Breweries and Seagrams too have ventured into making wine.

Other major’s players in this field are United Spirits Ltd, Mohan Breweries & Distilleries Ltd, Jagatjit Industries Ltd, Empee Distilleries Ltd. Radico Khaitan Ltd. ,Indus Wine .etc. to name a few. The total liquor industry is worth Rs 20 billion. IMFL accounts for only a third of the total liquor consumption in India. Most IMFLs are cheap and priced very low. Whisky accounts for 60 per cent of the liquor sales, while rum, brandy and vodka account for 17 per cent, 18 per cent and 6 per cent respectively.

India presents a huge growth potential for alcoholic beverages sales. The government is planning to do away with the licence requirement for manufacturing potable alcohol. Scrapping the licencing requirement would boost manufacture of beer, wine, whisky, rum, brandy and other alcoholic beverages. Increasing GDP, favourable growth in the demographics with a growing urban middle class, growth of modern retail formats, hopeful rationalization of the taxation rules and ban on local country liquor and rising health consciousness, age preferences will act in favour of the growth of alcoholic beverages in India in the near future.

How to prepare a Project Report on the Alcohol Industry?

There are many business opportunities in the alcoholic beverages industry. If you are considering a new business opportunity in this lucrative sector, you need a good project report.

You could have many alcohol business ideas. You are wondering whether to set up a muff liquor company, start a microbrewery business, or alcohol distributors. A business project report assesses market dynamics to determine the implications of your investment. It helps you decide whether it is worth investing in alcohol manufacturing, alcohol distribution, or retail.

Here are some key ingredients you should consider when preparing a project report on the alcohol industry.

1. Alcohol Market Growth

There is a need to understand the factors that affect alcohol production and consumption. This knowledge helps develop a project report. Find out who are the current alcohol manufacturers. Where do they sell their alcohol? What is the annual demand, and how does it compares to the production of alcoholic beverages?

2. Current Market Trends

Alcoholic beverages include beer, spirits, and wines. You need to survey your target market and establish which product is trending. Other market trends may be new technologies and approaches to liquor production, branding, and marketing.

3. Limiting Factors

Many countries regulate alcohol consumption. When preparing a project report, find out about this. Can it affect your business? Similarly, consider taxation regimes in your country. Alcohol is among the most heavily taxed consumer products.

4. Market Structure

Lastly, consider demographics and socio-economic factors that might affect your sales. You need some knowledge about consumer behavior and flavor preferences of your consumers. Knowledge of supply chain and its challenges is also necessary.

How to set up an Alcohol Manufacturing Industry?

In this section, I highlight some tips that will help you start an alcohol manufacturing business. Just read and follow the guidelines below.

1. Choose a Product

If you do some research, you will identify the type of liquor that both gives you a high ROI and appeals to your customers. So, choose your favorite alcoholic product that combines your passion and making profits.

2. Sort out Legal Requirements

One of the challenges you will confront is getting all the licenses and permits needed for starting a liquor industry. The earlier you start working on it, the better. Alcohol, as I mentioned earlier, is subject to lots of regulatory requirements. You might consider hiring an attorney to help you through the process.

3. Create a Brand

You are just about to enter a business that is not only lucrative but has already established players. You must be able to produce wines, beers, or spirits that are unique to compete with the existing brands. Develop a unique company story, logo, and appealing product labels.

4. Start your Production

You can outsource manufacturing services or handle it yourself. Outsourcing helps you reduce distillation costs. You also avoid the initial common production mistakes. It also helps you to deal with permits and licensing for a while. You can have your liquor business running as you work on these.

5. Begin Marketing

Marketing should start as soon, and if possible, before you release your first beer, wine, or spirit. You can engage in local promotions and trade fairs. At earlier stages, you can work directly with bartenders to help you introduce your brand to consumers. Bartenders may also play a key role in convincing their employers to stock your product.

Pre-feasibility report on the Alcohol Manufacturing Industry

Some people do not find it necessary to do a pre-feasibility study. However, it might be very costly to prepare a liquor business plan without a pre-feasibility report.

Due to its wide range of products and brands, you might have several alcohol business ideas. How do you tell which business idea is practical and profitable? Look at the biggest alcohol companies in your region. Which of your many business ideas gives you a competitive advantage over them?

A pre-feasibility report also helps you evaluate the input costs against your financial ability. Let’s say you want to start a microbrewery business. One of the considerations will be the type of distillers you need. How much do they cost? Can you afford them? Do you have the expertise to run them? What is distillation efficiency?

Generally, a pre-feasibility report on alcohol manufacturing helps you decide between different options. Before you start preparing a business plan, you need to identify an alcoholic product that is both feasible and profitable. You do not need to waste money hiring experts to write a liquor project on an idea that has minimum chances of breaking even.

Reason to start your own Liquor Business

Are you already mobilizing resources for your own liquor business? Wait for a minute. Why should you invest in the alcohol industry? Here are some reasons why people find those small business opportunities in liquor worth their investment.

Trading in alcohol can be a promising investment. Despite the stringent regulatory measures and high taxes, alcohol consumption seems least affected. If you polish your brand, market demand for alcohol remains immune to issues such as tax increments and financial recessions. You always have a steady market.

Secondly, alcohol has a high return on investment. Most restaurants make more profits from selling alcohol than any other product or service. Although alcohols have recommended prices, the selling price can be higher depending on the other services offered at the establishment.

Lastly, you should invest in the liquor business because the consumption trend is quite promising. Alcohol is the most preferred social drink. Global figures show that in some countries, a single adult drinks an average of 15 liters of beer per year.

How to start a Microbrewery Business?

In this final section, I give you some guiding ideas for starting a microbrewery.

1. Set up an attractive Design and Theme

Most customers prefer microbreweries with spacious and attractive interiors with a classy hipster vibe. The interiors and furniture must be comfortable.

2. Look for an Ideal Site

The average space requirement for a microbrewery is about 0.1m2 per liter of beer produced. In some countries, the minimum space allowed is 700 square feet.

3. Mobilize Resources and Capital

Before setting up a microbrewery, you should know that it generally has high operational and wastage costs due to the short shelf-life of their raw materials.

4. Assemble Machinery

The most important equipment will include a water tank, water softener, RO machine setup, and fermenter. You can find out other machines from established microbrewers.

5. Obtain all Legal Documents

Before you start manufacturing, get all permits and licenses. These include fire license and brewery license.

6. Hire or train a Head Brewer

The head brewer should be knowledgeable in the brewing process and familiar with the technical terms.

7. Decide the Menu

Choose an attractive meal menu that goes with beer. Your food menu should have well-researched variations.

8. Develop a Marketing Strategy

Do some eye-catching ads, a unique brand name, and an irresistible ambiance.

9. Install a POS software

A POS helps you manage your inventory, maintain a standard recipe for your drink, and analyze sales.

Aluminium Electrolytic Capacitor

Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are polarized electrolytic capacitors whose anode electrode (+) is made of a pure aluminum foil with an etched surface. The aluminum forms a very thin insulating layer of aluminium oxide by anodization that acts as the dielectric of the capacitor. A non-solid electrolyte covers the rough surface of the oxide layer, serving in principle as the second electrode (cathode) (-) of the capacitor. A second aluminum foil called “cathode foil” contacts the electrolyte and serves as the electrical connection to the negative terminal of the capacitor. Global aluminum electrolytic capacitor production clusters in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Mainland China, of which Japan shares half the market. With the global aluminum electrolytic capacitor industry transferring to China over the recent years, several Japanese companies are moving into the Chinese market and China's output of aluminum electrolytic capacitor is increasing, reaching over 13 million units in 2017, 1.6 times the figure in 2008, and expectedly with an AAGR of at least 7% between 2018 and 2023.
