Virgin Coconut oil, is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm.Today, consumers desiring to purchase coconut oil have a wide variety of choices.Coconut oil is often described as the “healthiest oil on earth.”Virgin coconut oil is known for its nice fragrance, taste, antioxidants, medium chain fatty acids (MCFA), and vitamins, among other things. VCO also contains no cholesterol; even mentioned also can reduce the blockage of blood vessels, reducing excess weight, boost the immune system, and prevent premature aging. Some believe, take a teaspoon of VCO per day can make your skin and shining hair.

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is growing in popularity as functional food oil and the public awareness of it is increasing. It is expected that VCO will experience a dramatic growth in the market. VirginCoconut oil into agribusiness products are more popular because of the potent believed to cure various diseases. Demand continues to increase, and the export market is still wide open.

VCO can be consumed in its natural state without the need for further processing. Hence, VCO does not undergo chemical refining, bleaching or deodorizing. Virgin coconut oil is colorless, free of sediment and has natural fresh coconut scent. It is free from rancid odor or taste. Virgin coconut oil consists mainly of medium chain fatty acids. The fatty acids in virgin coconut oil are distinct from animal fats which mainly consist of long chain saturated fatty acids.

Coconut is a small holder’s plantation crop grown in the humid tropics and tropical regions. India is a major producer of coconut in the world. Virgin coconut oil is obtained from fresh matured coconut. This oil is mainly used as a body massage oil and as an ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine. It is very nutritious. It has very good aroma and purity. It is applied on the body of babies to protect from skin troubles. There are few in organized sectors engaged in the manufacturing of virgin coconut oil. There is very good demand of it rather than general coconut oil. There is demand growth of coconut oil is 10% per annum.

Traditionally, coconut is an important source of vegetable oil used for both edible and industrial applications. It is estimated that nearly 50% of coconuts in India are consumed into copra to extract coconut oil. It will be profitable for new entrants to invest into this project.
