Indian Agrochemicals Market to Reach $6.8 Bn by FY17

Mosquito Coils and Mats

Repellents have been developed to effectively repel insects. Repellents are substances that protect animals, human beings, plants or products from insect attack by making living conditions unattractive or offensive for the insects. E.g. flies, mosquitoes etc. These substances, may not be poisonous or only mildly topic. The production of the mosquito coil dates back from the period around 1890. In the early stages they look the shapes of an incense stick burned at household Buddhist altars, but later on they were gradually improved to the present spiral form so that they could keep burning for as long as possible the spiral has a burning time of more than seven hours, having its origin in Japan.

Phenyl is a disinfectant or agent that frees from infection, is ordinarily a chemical agent, which kills disease germs or other harmful microorganisms. It has been used in an empirical way for at least several thousand years. The control of microorganisms is obviously of great personal and public importance. Phenyl is available in two forms (1) liquid and (2) solid. It is converted to milky solution. A good phenyl should have the power for killing insects and to get deodorized bad smell.

A pesticide is a chemical or biological agent (such as a virus, bacterium, antimicrobial, or disinfectant) that through its effect deters, incapacitates, kills, or otherwise discourages pests.

Naphthalene C10H8, sometimes called 'TARCAMPHOR' is a colourless crystalline-flaked solid with the familiar odour of moth balls. Naphthalene C10H8 is an aromatic hydrocarbon with two condensed ring aromatic compounds. The use of Naphthalene as an insect repellent has dwindled in recent years as other materials, e.g. p-dichlorobenzene, have displaced it. Naphthalene is used as an intermediate for a variety of products, including 1-Naphthol and l1-Naphthylmethl 1-carbamite insecticides and 2-Naphthol tanning.

Surfactants (Hand Wash, Floor Cleaner, Toilet Cleaner, Phenyl Black and White, Glass Cleaner, Dish Wash Liquid, Air Freshener)

Profile Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension of a liquid, the interfacial tension between two liquids, or that between a liquid and a solid. Surfactants may act as Air freshener, detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and dispersants. Surfactants are usually organic compounds that are amphiphilic, meaning they contain both hydrophobic groups (their tails) and hydrophilic groups (their heads).
