Textile, Apparel, Clothing, Denim wear, Innerwear, Lingerie, Hosiery, Denim Jeans, Readymade Garments and Under Garments Industry.

The Readymade garments industry is increasing day by day due to changes of fashion in day to day life. The readymade garment industry in India owes its existence to the emergence of a highly profitable market for exports. Ready-made garments account for approximately 45% of India's total textile exports. They represent value added and less import sub sector. In the recent years, however, the domestic demand has also been growing rapidly.

The changes in the life style since the onset of the liberalization era, and given the base of the industry for the overseas market, Indian garments industry have taken big strides. The entry of the Indian and global fashion designers has stimulated the market further. With the rising tailoring costs and relatively low prices of standardized products, the Indian consumer is increasingly taking to readymades. In the past, the readymades market was confined mainly to baby dresses and small manila-shirts and dress shirts.  Now it has extended to trousers, suits, and lady dresses and, of course, fashion garments for men and women.  Readymades of specific brands have become not only a status symbol; these have brought a more contemporary style in offices as much as in social circles. Franchised boutiques have been established as tools for brand and image building.

The garments  industry categorizes  itself  into  many  segments: formal wear and casual wear; women's dresses, men's and kids wear; suits, trousers, jackets and blazers; shirts, sportswear, tee-shirts, denims, neckwear; undergarments (men's and women's),  knitwear, saris. Denim is graded in clearly defined weight classes.  Lightweight denim (cambray) is used in shirts and blouses.  Heavy classical denim is used to make trousers, jackets or coats.

The market segmentation by price differentials is notable: high-end for the affluent, medium priced for the core and high middle classes, low-end for the low and core middle class. Of the entire industry volume of about 5 million tonnes, polyester and polyester filament yarn account for about 1.7 million tonnes, and acrylic, nylon, and viscose taken together for 300,000 tonnes. The balance is represented by cotton textiles.

The Indian branded garment market, which is estimated at over Rs 185 billion, accounts for 25% of the Rs 745 billion readymades market. Following the entry of several new brands, the branded segment has grown at 25% annually. This represents a shift from unbranded to the branded segment. The market for men’s innerwear is estimated to be worth Rs 25 billion, with branded market valued at Rs 7 billion.

The Lead Players & Alliances in this sector globally includes Maxwell Apparel Ind., Lovable, USA, Page Apparel Mfg., Jokey Intl., USA, etc. Some of the major leading brands include Arrow, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Louis Phillipe, Park Avenue, Zodiac, Lee, Excalibur, Flying Machine, Ruf n Tuf, Newport, Peter England, Louis Straus, Stencil, Wrangler, Rod Lever, etc.

The textile industry occupies a leading position in the hierarchy of the Indian manufacturing industry. It has witnessed several new directions in the era of liberalization. While textile exports are increasing and India has become the largest exporter in world trade in cotton yarn and is an important player of readymade garments, country’s international textile trade constitutes a mere 3% of the total world textile trade.  Several mills have opted for modernization and expansion and are going in for export-oriented units (EOUs) focused on   production of cotton yarn. It has passed through cyclical oscillations and at present, it is witnessing a recovery after a downturn.

A major improvement in weaving efficiency has been brought about by developments in spinning technology which has enabled production of yarn of higher quality. A major share of the looms installed in composite mills is now of automatic looms. However, autolooms installed in the decentralized and powerloom segments are small in number. Shuttleless technology, direct wrapping, use of splicing technology, automatic doffing and knotting systems, help to increase mill productivity. Speed of the auto looms or shuttleless looms is 60% higher than that of non-autolooms.

The textile industry has managed to modernise the spinning sector but there is a long way to go on the weaving front. India's power loom sector has over 10,000 shuttleless looms as compared to 150,000 in China.  The lead players in the Indian industry include Bombay Dyeing, Arvind Mills, Century Textiles, Coats Viyella, Morarji Gokuldas Spinning, JCT, Hindustan Spinning, etc.

Surgical Cotton - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Layout

Surgical cotton is also known as absorbent cotton or cotton wool. It is mainly used for medical purposes in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries at home (for first aid) etc. because of its high fluid absorbency. It is better known among masses as absorbent cotton. Absorbent cotton or surgical cotton is used at each level from medical to corporate and also individual level. This item is regulated under drug control act. Hence, it should be manufactured to meet its requirements for quality control standards. Apart from used as a dressing material, it is also used for padding for items of clothing, quilts etc. The absorbent cotton should be chemically inert and soft to give maximum protection and should not cause irritation. These properties can be achieved by manufacturing the product as per standard method of manufacture. The raw cotton is processed by series of steps which render the cotton hydro-phallic in character and free from external impurities needed to be fit for use in surgical dressings and personal hygiene. The demand for surgical cotton is directly related with the hospital, dispensaries, nursing homes, health care center etc. Progressive increase in health amenities offered by government and coming up of new hospital and health care center in private sector, even small towns are contributing to the growth of absorbent cotton industry. Government hospitals and nursing homes are the largest consumers of surgical cotton. With the development of medical facilities and growing awareness towards personal hygiene, the surgical cotton industry registered steady growth rate in the past, and is packing up pace with spread of education and upward economic growth of town and villages. In coming years the demand of surgical cotton will increase so there is wide scope for new entrepreneurs to venture into this project.

SURGICAL SUTURES MATERIALS (Surgical Gut, Polyglactin, Polyglycolic Acid, Poliglecaprone, Polydioxanone, Nylon, Polypropylene, Polyester) - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey

General classification of sutures includes natural and synthetic, absorbable and non absorbable and monofilament and multifilament. Natural materials are more traditional and are still used in suturing today. Synthetic materials cause less reaction and the resultant inflammatory reaction around the suture materials is minimized. Absorbable sutures are applicable to a wound that heals quickly and needs minimal temporary support. Their purpose is to alleviate tension on wound edges. The newer synthetic absorbable sutures retain their strength until the absorption process starts. Non-absorbable sutures offer longer mechanical support. The absorbable sutures include the monofilamentous monocryl (poliglecaprone), Maxon (Polyglycolidetrimethylene carbonate), and PDS (Polyglactin) and Dexon (Polyglycolic acid). Nonabsorbable sutures comprise nylon, prolene (Polypropylene), Novafil (Polybuster), PTFE (Polytetra fluoroethylene), steel and polyester. Nylon and steel sutures can be monofilaments or multifilaments. Prolene, Novafil and PTFE are monofilaments. Braided sutures are typically more pliable than monofilament and exhibit better knot security when the same type of knot is used. Their major advantage is that they exhibit less tissue drag, a characteristic that is especially important for cardiovasculary ophthalmic and neurological surgeries. A recent source in the literature lists eight objective and three subjective parameters for suture selection based on criteria such as tensile strength, strength retention, knot security, tissue drag, infection potential and case of tying. So, there is good future prospect for this industry and new entrepreneur enter in this project will be successful.

SURGICAL DISPOSABLE MANUFACTURING UNIT(Surgeon Gowns, Patient Gowns, Bed Sheets, Drapes, Surgeon Caps and Sheets Different Type)

Surgical gowns are worn by doctors and nurses in the operating theater to address a dual function of preventing transfer of microorganisms and body fluids from the operating staff to the patient, and also from patient to staff. Many of the performance requirements for surgical gowns are well documented. Surgical gowns must repel diseases and infections yet provide adequate freedom to move. They must allow necessary mobility without rubbing and chafing, and must resist tearing and linting. They must fit closely but not restrict movement. Since there is generally excess fabric, the gowns must withstand constant pulls on the fabric during routine movements. A surgical drape is a covering made of a disposable non-woven material and is used to cover the area of a patient. A drape usually has a fenestration to allow the surgeon to perform the operation. It comes in various sizes depending on the type of operation for which it is used. Drapes also vary from hospital to hospital. A surgical gown or drape is made to the user’s specifications. Therefore, the amount of the subject fabric or other impervious or water repellent fabric used in a gown or drape varies for each tender, depending on the specification required. The Healthcare Industry is the key drives for demand of surgical disposable fabrics due to increase in medical facilities & increase in number of healthcare units. The government of India has further released the clinical establishment Act to make sure that fair & quality health services are provided to all concerned. A rise in healthcare unit will automatically triggers the services of doctors, nurses & a good infrastructure facility which in turn good infrastructure will caters to the requirement of surgical disposable fabrics market. In India, the surgical disposable fabrics are one of the most promising sectors to be ventured in the near future. It will definitely show an impressive growth over the year to cater to a large population ensuring fair & quality health services to all incoming patients. Non Woven Fabric - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Layout

Product Profile: Non woven fabric is a fabric like material made from long fibres, bonded together by chemical, mechanical, heat or solvent treatment. The term is used in the textile manufacturing industry to denote fabrics, such as felt, which are neither woven nor knitted. Non woven materials typically lack strength unless densified or reinforced by a backing. In recent years, non wovens have become an alternative to polyurethane foam. Non woven fabrics are engineered fabrics that may be a limited life, single use fabric or a very durable fabric. They are flat, porous sheets that are made directly from separate fibers or from molten plastic or plastic film. They are not made by weaving or knitting and do not require converting the fibers to yarn. Non woven polypropylene (P.P.) fabric is made of spun bond polypropylene which can be recycled, naturally decompose and completely incinerates without any production of poisonous pollutant. Even though the bags look like a textile, they are in fact made from spun bonded polypropylene, commonly known as PP, which is a by-product of crude oil. No water is used in the production process and thereby not polluted. The material is recyclable thus environmentally friendly & assists with Environment protection. Properties of non woven fabric: Non woven fabrics provide specific functions such as absorbency, liquid repellency, resilience, stretch, softness, strength, flame retardancy, washability, cushioning, filtering, bacterial barrier and sterility. These properties are often combined to create fabrics suited for specific jobs, while achieving a good balance between product use-life and cost. They can mimic the appearance, texture and strength of a woven fabric and can be as bulky as the thickest paddings. In combination with other materials they provide a spectrum of products with diverse properties, and are used alone or as components of apparel, home furnishings, health care, engineering, industrial and consumer goods. Applications of Non woven Fabrics • Wipes and dusters, tea and coffee bags, fabric softeners, food wraps, filters, bed and table linen, etc. • Hygienic care as in baby diapers, feminine hygiene products, adult incontinence items, dry and wet pads, but also nursing pads. • Healthcare, like operation drapes, gowns and packs, face masks, dressings and swabs, etc. • Interlinings, insulation and protection clothing, industrial work wears, chemical defence suits, shoe components, etc. • Application in automotive: boot liners, shelf trim, oil and cabin air filters, moulded bonnet liners, heat shields, airbags, tapes, decorative fabrics, etc. • Roofing and tile underlay, thermal and noise insulation, house wrap, drainage, etc. • Geotextiles: asphalt overlay, soil stabilization, drainage, sedimentation and erosion control, etc. • Filtration of air and gas, Hevac, Hepa, Ulpa filters • Industrial: cable insulation, abrasives, reinforced plastics, battery separators, satellite dishes, artificial leather, air conditioning, coating. • Home furnishing, Agriculture, leisure and travel, school and office etc. Non woven bags Non woven bags have been emerging as the most popular alternative with local stores and big retailers because bags made of this material offer the texture and durability of a cloth bag at a much lower cost. These bags are the cheapest alternative to plastic. The non woven bags have generated the highest order from the market since the plastic bag ban. Polypropylene is not harmful. It is recyclable, hence good for environment. There are various kinds of non woven bags such as non woven rice bag, carry bag, catering bag, banyan cut bag, fruit and vegetables bag, grocery/shopping bag, PP bag, gift bag, printed bag and many more. For example non woven rice bags are extensively used to store rice in place of conventional plastic and paper bags. Non woven rice bags have high tensile strength and are highly durable. Non woven fabric bags are widely used as packing material due to so many advantages over conventional sacks. These bags are excellent for covering products and goods thereby protecting them from moisture and dust. Market Scenario Global sales of non woven fabrics are forecast to increase 6.9 percent annually through 2015 to 9.2 million metric tons. This rate is acceleration from the 2005 o 2010 periods, reflecting a low base as global recessionary conditions restrained non wovens fabric demand in 2008 and 2009 before improving somewhat in 2010. Continued growth in global manufacturing and construction activity, as well as gains in personal income will promote demand. Product sales will grow faster in area terms, rising 7.3 percent per year to 198 billion square meters, reflecting a modest decrease in average non wovens weight. This will be due primarily to increased demand in developing areas for a variety of lighter weight disposable non woven products, supported by manufacturer efforts to make them more affordable and technological advances that are making new generations of non woven fabrics lighter. The sales of non woven fabrics in India will increase 12.7% per year in constant dollars from $214 million in 2007 to $390 million by the end of 2012. These dollar sales represent non woven materials that are produced within India and non wovens that are imported in roll good forms or in a converted state, such as baby diapers or modified bitumen roofing materials. The personal hygiene market- which includes adult incontinence products, feminine hygiene products, and infant diapers and training pants will continue to account for the single largest share of non wovens demand in 2012.

Geotextiles for Road Construction - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities

Profile Geotextiles is defined as permeable textile materials used in contact with soil, rock, earth or any other geotechnical related material as an integral part of civil engineering project, structure, or system. Geotextiles have proven to be among the most versatile and cost-effective ground modification materials. Their use has expanded rapidly into nearly all areas of civil, geotechnical, environmental, coastal, and hydraulic engineering. They form the major component of the field of geosynthetics, the others being geogrids, geomembranes and geocomposites. Based on their structure and the manufacturing technique, geotextiles may be broadly classified into woven and nonwoven. Woven geotextiles are manufactured by the interlacement of warp and weft yarns, which may be of spun, multifilament, fibrillated or of slit film. Nonwoven geotextiles are manufactured through a process of mechanical interlocking or thermal bonding of fibers/filaments. Mechanical interlocking of the fibers/filaments is achieved through a process called needle punching. Needle-punched nonwoven geotextiles are best suited for a wide variety of civil engineering applications and are the most widely used type of geotextile in the world. Interlocking of the fibers/filaments could also be achieved through thermal bonding. Heat-bonded geotextiles should be used with caution, as they are not suitable for filtration applications or road stabilization applications over soft soils. Geotextile Functions The mode of operation of a geotextile in any application is defined by discrete functions: separation, filtration, drainage, reinforcement, sealing and protection. Depending on the application the geotextile performs one or more of these functions simultaneously. There are various applications such as separation, filtration, drainage (transmissivity), reinforcement, sealing function, etc. Areas of Application The major application areas of geotextiles in transportation engineering are flexible paved road construction, drainage applications and pavement overlays. Geotextiles extend the service life of roads, increase their load carrying capacity, and reduce rutting. The weak subgrades the geotextile extends the service life of a flexible pavement section by a factor of 2.5 to 3.0 compared to a non stabilized section. A geotextile effectively increased the pavement sections total AASHTO structural number by approximately 19%. Geotextiles also play a major role in construction of paved roads over areas having high ground water table. Drainage of water from pavements has always been an important consideration in road design; current methods of pavement design have resulted in base courses that do not drain well. Market Scenario Geo Textiles have proven to be versatile and cost effective ground modification materials. Their use expanded rapidly into nearly all areas of civil engineering, geotechnical, environmental, coastal and hydraulic engineering. Geo-Textiles is forecasted to achieve the highest growth rates among the twelve technical textile application areas. The rate of 4.6% per annum between 2000 and 2005 is set to increase to 5.3% per annum during 2005 to 2010. The world demand for Geo Textiles is projected at about 4715 million square meters by 2014 mostly from China and India. Globally the value of the sector is growing at a rate of around 5% a year and accounts for 0.80% share of the total technical textile segment. This share is expected to go up marginally to 2010. It is predicted that global demand for geosynthetics will increase 5% annually to 4.7 billion square metres in 2013. With India is making huge investments in infrastructure development in roads, railways, dams, irrigation projects, airports, seaports, and construction projects where geosynthetics can be used in enhancing design flexibility, cost effectiveness, aesthetics, functionality and long term durability of the civil, marine, environment engineering projects we undertake. Consequently the demand for geotech segment is set to grow phenomenally. Cost Estimation:

The textile industry occupies a leading position in the hierarchy of the Indian manufacturing industry. It was estimated to contribute 14% to industrial output, 4% to GDP and about 11% to Indias export earnings. Besides, it provides direct employment to over 35 mn people and is the second biggest employer. Its direct linkages with the rural economy, being dependent on fibre crops, is also closely linked with diverse crafts, such as those using cotton, wood and silk and handlooms employing millions of farmers and craftsmen in rural and semi-urban areas. In the global context, the industry accounts for 61% of loomage, 22% of spindleage, 12% of the production of textile fibres and yarn, and 25% share in the total world trade of cotton yarn. Various Units of Textile Industry: The textile industry is classified into (i) textile mills comprising composite and spinning mills in the organized sector; (ii) small powerloom and handloom units in the decentralised sector; (iii) khadi based units; (iv) manmade and synthetic fibre and spinning units; (v) knitting units; and (vi) made-ups (garments). The industry is made up of small scale, non integrated spinning, weaving, finishing and apparel making units as well integrated composite mills. Of the nearly 2700 units engaged in spinning yarns, 1135 are small scale. The weaving units numbering 4.8 mn have only 10,000 units in the organized sector, while the rest are engaged in handlooms (3.9 mn) and powerlooms (1.8 mn). Of the 3,300 processing units, nearly 2,100 are independent small units, while the fabricators of garments number 77,000 small scale units. Market Scenario: Cotton yarn production in India declined marginally from 2.21 mn tonnes in 2001-02 to 2.18 mn tonnes in 2002 to 03. Thereafter, there has been a steady increase to over 2.7 mn tonnes in 2006 to 07. The production for 2007 to 08 is estimated at 2.9 mn tonnes. Blended yarn, which has a sizable blending with cotton yarn, has remained under 6 mn tonnes for most of the years between 2002-03 and 2005 to 06. It had earlier peaked at 6.5 mn tonnes in 2000-01. Lately, there has been some improvement. The production in 2006-07 and 2007 to 08 is estimated at 6.35 and 7 mn tonnes, respectively. The overall share of cotton in all yarn production is around 75%. Compared with the industry in other countries the Indian textile industry is endowed with some inherent advantages, such as abundance of raw material and cheap labour. As a result, India is the second largest cotton trader after the USA, having the largest area (9 mn hectare) under it. Shifting to BT cotton has helped in boosting production from 15.8 mn bales in 2001 to 02 to an estimated 31 mn bales in 2007 to 08.
