The steel industry in India has been moving from strength to strength. India has emerged as the fourth largest producer of steel in the world and the second largest producer of crude steel. Steel production reached 28.52 million tonne (MT). India’s steel industry has some advantages i.e. sufficient availability of raw materials, particularly quality iron-ore, a rich skill base and an expanding market.

Long products constitute almost half of the annual steel production, which stands at 53 million tonnes presently. Industry estimates show that the construction sector alone consumes close to 45 per cent of the total long products output. Stainless steel accounts for only 3 per cent of the country’s total steel production and about 70 per cent finds application in kitchenware and the rest in industries. The demand for flat steel products will be strong, with rising production of automobiles as automobile sales have risen an annual 15%. Steel along with iron has a weight of 3.64 per cent in the wholesale price index. The present index of basic metal and alloy recorded an 8.55% growth rate. Production of bars and rods recorded 19.67% growth rate and steel wires recorded 11.11% growth rate.India’s steel production is likely to surpass the domestic requirement by 2011-2012, easing pressure on price of the alloy. Other allied steel products are HR coils, CR coils, and HDG coil.etc. End users sector like auto, consumer durables, construction and electricity have all shown steady growth in recent years and Indian steel import figure further provides evidence of strong domestic demand.

Major players in the steel sectors are Steel Authority of India (SAIL), RINL, TataSteel, JSW Steel, Essar Steel and Bhushan Steel, Jindal Saw, JSL, Usha Martin, Uttam Galva, PSL, Ajmera Realty, etc.

India’s steel industry is the happening place in 2010 with global gins in the field showing keen interest in setting shop in India. India is poised to take a big leap in steel capacity creation. By 2015-16, it may become world’s second largest steel producer. The National Steel Policy has a target for taking steel production up to 110 MT by 2019–20. Nonetheless, with the current rate of ongoing greenfield and brownfield projects, the Ministry of Steel has projected India's steel capacity is expected to touch 124.06 MT by 2011–12. In fact, based on the status of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed by the private producers with the various state governments, India's steel capacity is likely to be 293 MT by 2020.

High Tensile Wire Used in Prestressed Concrete Poles and Railway Sleepers - Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study

High tensile wires are those which can withstand great strain without breaking or becoming deformed. High tensile wire is made with higher carbon steel. The increased carbon content increases the wire’s strength and elongation. As the carbon percentage content rises, steel has the ability to become harder and stronger through heat treating; however, it becomes less ductile. Regardless of the heat treatment, a higher carbon content reduces weldability. In carbon steels wire, the higher carbon content lowers the melting point. It has high strength, adequate ductility, Bendability, which is required at the harping points and near the anchorage, low relaxation to reduce losses and minimum corrosion. High tensile wire for pre-stresses in concrete structure by virtue of improved proportional limit, higher ductility combines with higher strengths. High Tensile Wires are used in Pre-stressed Concrete Industry, large bridges, Flyovers, Ports and Road Dividers. High tensile wire improves the bond strength between pre-stressed steel wire and concrete. Reduces the frictional losses between pre-stressed wire and concrete and increases the anchorage efficiency. Under the dispensations of the government's Industrial Policy of the post-liberalisation era, four steps changed the direction of the steel industry in India. These were (i) freedom to set up integrated steel plants in the private sector; (ii) placing imports of steel under OGL (open general licence); (iii) reduction of import duties on both steel and scrap; and (iv) decontrol of domestic prices. As a result, India has come to enjoy a cost advantage compared to most countries. The domestic demand is based on the per capita consumption in the urban sector increasing from 77 kg to 165 kg in 2019-20 at an annual growth of 5%. Manganese From Electrolytic Process -Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities

Manganese is a key component in the production of steel. Although classified as a minor metal, the quantity of manganese produced worldwide each year falls behind only iron, aluminium, copper and zinc.Manganese is a very brittle, hard, pinkish-gray metal. It is a reactive metal, chemically active with water, air and most acids. It hardens and strengthens steel when alloyed with it. Manganese metal produced from electrolytic process is called Electrolytic Manganese Metal (EMM). It is expensive. Its relatively high price limits the use of the metal mainly to production of some stainless steel, aluminium and copper alloys. The trend in the aluminium industry has been towards a briquette containing about 75% manganese and 25% aluminium made from manganese and aluminium powder. The introduction of the electrolytic manganese of 99.98% purity completely free from impurities like phosphorous, carbon, etc. has opened up scope for the production of new series of stainless steel. Manganese, a key ingredient for steel making, has been witnessing interesting price action lately. Prices rose briskly from $1,500 per tonne to over $2,000 in 2016, helped by low inventory, tighter supply due to mine closures and some pick-up in Chinese demand. State-owned manganese producer MOIL increased the price of all grades of ore for the April-June 2016 quarter by up to 50 per cent. Manganese is of relevance to India as the country is the fifth largest producer globally. As a whole it is a good project for new entrepreneurs to invest. Red Oxide Primer [Anti-Corrosive]

Red Oxide Primer is specially formulated for use on both bare and rusty iron and steel. Red oxide primer is a specially formulated coating used as a base coat for ferrous metals. Red-oxide primer serves a similar purpose to interior wall primers in that it prepares your metal for a topcoat, but it also gives iron and steel surfaces a layer of protection. Working with red oxide primer is not difficult. Red oxide primer is intended for use on interior and exterior ferrous metal and is not usually suitable for galvanized or nonferrous metals like aluminum, copper or brass. Ferrous refers to metals that contain iron. If you’re uncertain whether your metal is ferrous or nonferrous, use a magnet to test it. Ferrous metals are magnetic, and nonferrous metals are not. It is also not suitable for use on asphalt or bituminous surfaces. Red oxide primer is an anti-corrosion coating designed to stop rust formation. It can be applied directly over a rusty surface and is most ideal for exterior use. Red oxide primer can be covered with most conventional topcoats once it fully dries. Red Oxide Primer can be used for: • BBQ • Fire Surround • Garage door • Metal Garden furniture • Metal Railings • Radiator
