Profile Tempered glass is made from normal annealed glass via a thermal tempering process in which the glass is subjected to heat till its softening point and then rapidly cooled. This increases the strength of the glass. A fully tempered glass is 4 to 5 times stronger than an annealed glass of similar thickness. Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. Application It Toughened glass is used when strength, thermal resistance and safety are important considerations.
