Precipitated Silica from Rice Husk Ash

Rice milling generates a byproduct known as husk. This surrounds the paddy grain. During milling of paddy about 78 % of weight is received as rice, broken rice and bran.Rest 22 % of the weight of paddy is received as husk. This husk is used as fuel in the rice mills to generate steam for the parboiling process. This husk contains about 75 % organic volatile matter and the balance 25 % of the weight of this husk is converted into ash during the firing process, is known as rice husk ash (RHA). This RHA in turn contains around 85 % - 90 % amorphous silica. Precipitated silica is used as filler for paper & rubber as a carrier & diluents for agricultural chemicals, as an anti-caking agent, to control viscosity & thickness and as a cleansing agent in toothpastes & in cosmetics. Precipitated silica, along with fumed silica, silica sol, and silica gel, is a part of the global specialty silica market. This market is expected to exhibit positive single-digit growth through 2018 and reach a valuation of US$ 7 Bn by 2018. Liquor from Mahua (Wine and Hard Liquor)

Mahualongifolia is an Indian tropical tree found largely in the central and north Indian plains and forests. It is commonly known as mahua, mahwa or Iluppai. The flowers of the tree, which have a unique fragrance, are used to produce alcohol and provide livelihood to thousands of people. There are various types of alcoholic beverages and the concentration of ethanol differs across preparation. Alcoholic drinks prepared by using yeast to ferment various sugar containing plant products usually have a low concentration as yeast ceases to grow when the concentration of ethanol reaches about 15 percent. Stronger liquors, on the other hand, are prepared through distillation. The chemical composition of wine is complex. A typical wine contains more than 300 components in addition to alcohol, often including minerals and vitamins not found in other fermented beverages.Alcohol concentrations may vary from 10% to 14% for table wines and up to 20% for certain aperitifs. While the prevalent alcohol is ethanol, glycerol and more than a dozen other alcohols have been isolated from wines. The market is being driven by domestic consumption rather than exports. Domestic sales of wine grew by 20% in 2015. Wine is largely consumed by the urban population in India and close to 80% of the wine consumption comes from the metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. As a whole it is a good project for new entrepreneurs to invest. Kraft Paper From Waste Paper

Kraft paper is paper produced from chemical pulp produced in the kraft process. Sack kraft paper, or just sack paper, is a porous kraft paper with high elasticity and high tear resistance, designed for packaging products with high demands for strength and durability. Kraft Paper from waste paper is obtained by pressing the moist material firmly against the surface of the drying cylinder. The moist paper adheres to the cylinder surface until it is dry enough for separation. A surface smoothness equivalent to that of the cylinder is imported to the side of the paper in contact with it. Because of its strength, Kraft Paper is used for many industrial and commercial applications. The material is used in packaging operations for packing, wrapping individual items, bundling and void fill. Also, Kraft paper can be used as load binders between layers of palatalized products. The domestic demand for paper is growing at around 8% for the last couple of years in line with GDP growth. However, the per capita consumption in the country is only 8 kg a year. As a result of this low base, the long-term growth prospects are bright. The government's thrust on education and special schemes are expected to help the industry in future. Thus, due to demand it is a good project for entrepreneurs to invest. Button Mushroom Cultivation

Button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is the most popular variety, fetches high price, still dominating the Indian and International market. It contributes about 90 per cent of total country’s production as against its global share of about 40 per cent. The white button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is grown on compost based on various agricultural wastes and animal manure. The composting process is a high temperature self sustained fermentation, which results in partial break down of lignin and cellulose. It fixes unstable forms of nitrogen into stable complexes, favour rapid increase in microbial population (fungi, bacteria, actinomycetes and yeasts) and eliminates harmful pathogens, competitors and pests. This process results in formation of highly selective substrate compost for the growth of mushroom mycelium. The classic “short method of composting” by Sinden and Huuser (1953) was turning point in making compost more efficiently and in shorter duration. This is completed in two parts (i) out door (ii) indoor pasteurization. white button mushrooms or commercial mushrooms, they are available year-round and are used in soups, salads, casseroles or eaten raw. The current Indian scenario is quite encouraging with an overall increase in production by 5 to 6 times. During the last one decade, estimated production is likely to cross 50,000 tons of all types of mushrooms. However, this is very small quantity if the vast market potential of this large country is to be fully exploited. Mushroom industry has a bright future in India, chiefly because of large quantity of agro by products and agro-waste generated, as well as availability of large and cheap labour force. India exports the highest quantity of the mushroom produced in the country to USA. Netherlands and China account for 60% of the export of mushrooms. Germany is the largest importer and France and UK are large producers as well as consumers. As a whole you can invest in this project without risk and earn profit. Kraft Paper

Kraft paper is paper produced from chemical pulp produced in the kraft process. Sack kraft paper, or just sack paper, is a porous kraft paper with high elasticity and high tear resistance, designed for packaging products with high demands for strength and durability. Pulp produced by the kraft process is stronger than that made by other pulping processes; acidic sulfite processes degrade cellulose more, leading to weaker fibers, and mechanical pulping processes leave most of the lignin with the fibers, whereas kraft pulping removes most of the lignin present originally in the wood. Pulp and paper are manufactured from raw materials containing cellulose fibers, generally wood, recycled paper, and agricultural residues. In developing countries, about 60% of cellulose fibers originate from nonwood raw materials such as bagasse, cereal straw, bamboo, reeds, esparto grass, jute, flax, and sisal. The Paper demand in India will grow by 53% over the next six years, increasing from today's levels of 13 mn metric tonne to 20 mntonne by 2020.
