Curcumin Extraction Unit

Curcumin is the main biologically active phytochemical compound of Turmeric. It is extracted, concentrated, standardized and researched. Curcumin, which gives the yellow color to turmeric, was first isolated almost two centuries ago, and its structure as diferuloylmethane was determined in 1910. Extensive research within the last half a century has proven that its renowned range of medicinal properties, once associated with Turmeric, is due to Curcumin. Curcumin is a water-soluble orange-yellow coloured powder. Today, India is the primary exporter of turmeric (known as haldi in India). Curcumin is one of three curcuminoids of turmeric. Theother two curcuminoids are demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin. Curcumin is the main biologically active phytochemical compound of Turmeric. Molecular chemical formula of Curcumin: C21H20O6. Global cancer drugs market has surpassed USD 100 billion valuation in 2015 and may reach nearly USD 145 billion by 2024, with U.S. being the major consumer. U.S. herbal dietary supplements market was over USD 6 billion valuation in 2015, with estimated gains at over 7.5%. Rise in consumer awareness related to over the counter availability owing to favorable government regulations should enhance curcumin demand. India is one of the largest manufacturers of curcumin, contributing to more than 80.0% of the global production, which is on account of presence of large scale turmeric cultivations. Low consumer awareness of curcumin as a healthy ingredient in India results in majority of it being exported to North America and Europe. India dominates the global market for spice oleoresin, which is in big demand from processed food and fragrance industries that now mostly prefer natural colouring and flavouring agents to artificial ones as consumers become increasingly health conscious. Manufacturing of Disposable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Kit

The purpose of personal protective equipment is to reduce employee exposure to hazards when engineering controls and administrative controls are not feasible or effective to reduce these risks to acceptable levels. PPE is commonly used in health care settings such as hospitals, doctor's offices and clinical labs. When used properly, PPE acts as a barrier between infectious materials such as viral and bacterial contaminants and your skin, mouth, nose, or eyes (mucous membranes). The barrier has the potential to block transmission of contaminants from blood, body fluids, or respiratory secretions. PPE may also protect patients who are at high risk for contracting infections through a surgical procedure or who have a medical condition, such as, an immunodeficiency, from being exposed to substances or potentially infectious material brought in by visitors and healthcare workers. When used properly and with other infection control practices such as hand-washing, using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, and covering coughs and sneezes, it minimizes the spread of infection from one person to another. Effective use of PPE includes properly removing and disposing of contaminated PPE to prevent exposing both the wearer and other people to infection. The PPE include face shields, gloves, goggles and glasses, gowns, head covers, masks, respirators, and shoe covers. Face shields, gloves, goggles and glasses, gowns, head covers, and shoe covers protect against the transmission of germs through contact and droplet routes. The global personal protective equipment market size was estimated at USD 50.9 billion in 2019 and expected to register a CAGR of 6.6%. Increasing need for respiratory equipment in mining, emergency response, military and law enforcement, healthcare, and fire services, coupled with rising instances of hand injuries at the workplace, is anticipated to propel market growth over the coming years. Growing awareness regarding workers’ health and safety, in addition to rising industrial fatalities primarily in emerging economies owing to lack of personal protective equipment (PPE), is anticipated to steer the market over the forecast years. Technological innovation, accompanied by changing consumer needs for PPE, is further projected to augment market expansion. The outbreak of COVID-19 has increased the demand for PPE products including masks, respirators, protective clothing, and gloves. The manufacturing, aerospace, etc. sectors have supplied PPE to their employees to protect them from the sudden outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19. Ayurvedic /Herbal Hand Sanitizer

Hand hygiene is the best tool in preventing opportunistic infections caused by different micro organisms and to achieve this, the use of hand sanitizers becomes must in current scenario. Right hand washing and drying methods stop the chain of transmission of deadly pathogens (from the contaminated surface/site) form hands to other parts of the body. Hand sanitization is the preeminent aid in preventing nosocomial infections caused by different opportunistic microorganisms and to get this, the use of hand sanitizer becomes must in recent circumstances. Herbal hand sanitizer incorporating the leaves extracts of Ocimumcanctum Linn.(Tulsi)and Eucalyptus globules (Nilgiri), the well-known herbal combination with multidimensional activities; and to evaluate their respective antimicrobial efficacy and safety of hands. Herbal hand sanitizer was prepared using leaves extracts of Ocimum sanctum, Eugenia caryophyllus and Cymbopogon flexuous. The antibiotic sensitivity test of the prepared herbal hand sanitizer against skin pathogens was checked using disc diffusion method and results were compared with commercially available synthetic hand sanitizer. The herbal hand sanitizer gives larger inhibition zone than the commercially available synthetic hand sanitizer against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The efficacy of herbal hand sanitizer was evaluated using microorganism suspensions; which revealed that the herbal hand sanitizer is efficient in reducing higher number of microorganism from the hands as compared to commercial synthetic hand sanitizer. Thus, owing to higher antimicrobial activity and efficacy these herbal extracts can be used in the preparation of herbal hand sanitizers on commercial scale. In the absence of a vaccine or effective antiviral drugs, hand hygiene is a mainstay of efforts to prevent the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19. The sanitiser contains natural extracted oils, which increase the antiseptic properties and act against bacterial contamination. It also provides cooling and natural fragrance along with moisturizing the skin upon use. India hand sanitizer market is projected to surpass $ 43 million by 2025. Growth of hand sanitizer market in India can be attributed to rising awareness about healthy lifestyle & wellness, shifting consumer preference towards convenient hygiene products and rising disposable income. Moreover, the strong marketing activities by leading brands, in addition to huge endorsements, are some other drivers of hand sanitizer market in India. Moreover, the COVID-19 outbreak has boosted demand for sanitizers like never before across the diverse end user segments. The rising healthcare investments for providing a high-end and safer medical environment for healthcare professionals by preventing hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) have augmented the demand for hand sanitizers in the medical sector. Production of Latex & Nitrile Gloves

Nitrile is a synthetic rubber compound that is commonly used as a disposable glove material. Nitrile has a higher puncture resistance than any other glove material. Nitrile also has a better chemical resistance than Latex or Vinyl gloves. Nitrile gloves are a more hypoallergenic choice. Created from synthetic rubbers, the incidence of nitrile rubber allergy is extremely low. Nitrile gloves are not packed in powder and are easy to handle directly on removal from the box. Nitrile gloves are considered to be the ideal choice in emergency situations when the allergy status of a patient or user is not known. Nitrile gloves are extremely durable and puncture resistant. Nitrile gloves can withstand exposure to oils, solvents, and chemicals which easily destroy natural latex gloves. Nitrile gloves are commonly used as exam gloves, but due to their strength, lend themselves to multiple uses. Nitrile comes in powdered form, sterile, non-sterile and offered at different lengths from wrist to forearm. They are designed for multiple uses that include basic exam room checks, to hazardous materials handling, like working with chemotherapy chemicals. Powder Free Nitrile Gloves are anti-static in behavior, good solvent resistant, odour free, and hence useful in food and dairy industry. Powder-free gloves reduce the cause of allergies by lowering protein and chemical content. Powdered gloves are usually lubricated with cornstarch, which makes them much easier to put on. Cornstarch coatings have replaced other powdering options such as lycopodium powder and talc because these other coating types have been found to irritate tissue. Nevertheless, even cornstarch can impede healing when coming into contact with tissues, so powder-free gloves are often preferred for surgeries and other sensitive procedures. Nitrile gloves however are not as soft as latex gloves, and are not known for being easy to wear. In fact, their strength is a weakness when dealing with applications that require fine movements and dexterity. Nitrile is also slightly more expensive to produce. Latex comes directly from rubber trees. Latex gloves are the most commonly used disposable gloves because they have been the only strong disposable glove material option on the market. However, now many hospitals and clinics have begun replacing their latex gloves with nitrile gloves. Latex gloves are often preferred by healthcare providers since they provide the best service when it comes to elasticity, comfort and fit. Surgeons in particular benefit from latex gloves since they are great for sensitive work, since they offer more precision with high tactile sensitivity. While there are allergy concerns with latex gloves, they are sometimes more favorable to users over a nitrile glove mainly due to comfort and strength. Generally Latex gloves will be more comfortable, sensitive, and provide better grip, although the modern advances in nitrile glove manufacturing has seen nitrile gloves become more comfortable, thinner, with better dexterity. LATEX GLOVES from The Safety Zone provide the best feel, fit and dexterity. Latex gloves are available in both lightly powdered and powder free options in a variety of thicknesses. Lightly powdered latex gloves are produced with a food grade corn starch powder, making donning easier especially when hands are wet. Powder free gloves go through an extra process of chlorinating the gloves to ease donning. Polymer coated latex gloves provide an additional barrier to prevent latex proteins from touching the skin. The physical properties of latex offer protection from bio hazardous risks whilst superior elasticity and tensile strength. These properties provide unsurpassed user comfort and a reasonable resistance to cuts and abrasions. As latex gloves are manufactured from a naturally occurring substance, they possess greater biodegradability and are kinder to the environment than Vinyl and Nitrile gloves, which are manufactured from man-made synthetic materials. GLOVE TYPE DEFINITION ADVANTAGE PROTECTION LEVEL Latex Gloves Made of natural rubber Highest comfort, Bacteria, viruses flexibility, fit and tactile sensitivity Nitrile Gloves Made of synthetic material Stretchy, durable Chemicals, viruses Special Features Nitrile gloves • Mould to your hand for a great fit • Latex free • Good durability • Excellent puncture resistance • Have a long shelf life • Available in powdered and powder free • Can be worn for longer periods of time • Work well for high-risk situations involving infectious materials Special Features Latex gloves • Fit like a second skin • They are cost effective • They are biodegradable so better for the environment • Very elastic and strong • Preferred in the medical industry over nitrile as they are made from a natural source • Good dexterity Market of Nitrile Gloves The Global Nitrile Gloves Market is expected to reach USD 3.50 Billion by 2027. Growth in the incidences of epidemic diseases and the subsequent increase in the demand for infection prevention and control utilities are expected to drive the market demand in the forecast period. Nitrile gloves are primarily used in the medical sector as a safety tool to prevent the spreading of infection between caretakers and patients. The benefits offered by nitrile gloves include superior strength, longevity, and better protection against bloodborne pathogens. Asia Pacific market is estimated to witness the fastest growth rate of 6.5% in the nitrile gloves market. This can be chiefly attributed to the growth of the healthcare sector and the food processing industry in the leading countries in this region, especially China, India, and South Korea. Key players of the market are ompanies Ansell, Hartalega Holdings Berhad, Dynarex Corporation, United Glove Inc., Kossan Rubber Industries Ltd., Supermax Corporation Berhad, Rubberex, Adventa Berhad, Kimberly Clark and 3M among others. Market of Latex Gloves Latex gloves are natural material, made out of rubber. Gloves are disposable items used during medical examinations and procedures intended to prevent cross-contamination between healthcare providers and patients. Examination gloves are sized in XS, S, M and L. Some brands also offer size XL. Gloves are mainly used by healthcare professionals generally for examination and surgery. Surgical gloves are generally sized more specifically since they are worn for a much longer period of time and require excellent dexterity. There are various benefits of latex gloves such as properly fit to skin, good touch sensitivity, cost-effective, can be worn for an extended amount of time, elastic & strong and most importantly it is biodegradable. India disposable gloves market generated $303 million in 2017, and is projected to reach $760 million by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 12.4% from 2018 to 2025. In terms of volume, the market is growing at a CAGR of 8.3% from 2018 to 2025. Ltd., Dahanu Rubber Gloves Manufacturing Co., Plasti Surge Industries Pvt. Ltd., Safeshield India Rubber Products Pvt. Ltd., Sara Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., and 3p India. Role of gloves in covid-19 Medical gloves are used by health care personnel to prevent the spread of infection or illness. Medical gloves are disposable and include patient examination gloves and surgeon’s gloves. To help expand the availability of medical gloves, the FDA is providing regulatory flexibility, as described in the enforcement policy for gloves that is in effect during the COVID-19 public health emergency. When a person touches an object/surface contaminated by COVID-19 infected person, and then touches his own eyes, nose, or mouth, he may get exposed to the virus. Although this is not thought to be a predominant mode of transmission, care should be exercised while handling objects/surface potentially contaminated by suspect/confirmed cases of COVID-19. Nitrile gloves are preferred over latex gloves because they resist chemicals, including certain disinfectants such as chlorine. There is a high rate of allergies to latex and contact allergic dermatitis among health workers. However, if nitrile gloves are not available, latex gloves can be used. Non-powdered gloves are preferred to powdered gloves

Spices (Turmeric, Chilli & Masala Powder)

Spices are non-leafy parts (e.g. bud, fruit, seed, bark, rhizome, bulb) of plants used as a flavoring or seasoning, although many can also be used as a herbal medicine. A closely related term, ‘herb’, is used to distinguish plant parts finding the same uses but derived from leafy or soft flowering parts. The two terms may be used for the same plants in which the fresh leaves are used as herbs, while other dried parts are used as spices, e.g. coriander, dill. There are a large number of various spices, used along with food such as pepper, chill, cardamom, cinnamon, mustard, cloves, ginger, turmeric, coriander etc. These spices give taste to the prepared food and at the same time give attractive colours and smell to the food. So the usage of some or all of these spices during cooking is now became an unavoidable one. The quantity of a particular spice added to the food during cooking is depends upon the taste of the user. For better and proper taste, the addition of these spices should be controlled. For that there is certain composition of spices for each type of dishes. For e.g if we are going to make the north Indian dish paneer butter masala. There is a particular composition of the spices and at the same time the composition of the spices added to sambar a south Indian dish is entirely different, even though the contents are same. India is the largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices and spice products in the world and produces more than 50 spices. India is also a big exporter of Chilli, turmeric, cumin, pepper and many other spices. The country also imports various spices to meet its local requirement of taste as Indian dishes are incomplete without adding varieties of spices to them. Andhra Pradesh is the largest spice producing state in India. Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Assam, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are the other major spices producing states in India. Chilli is the major spice crop occupying about 29 percent of area under cultivation and contributing about 34 percent of total spices production in the country. Turmeric accounts for 14% of production and 6% of area, while garlic accounts for 19% of production and 5% of area. Seed spices contribute 17% of production and occupy 41% of area while pepper contributes 2% of production and occupies 9% of area of the total spices in the country. Total spices export from India stood at 226,225 tonnes valued at US$ 621.78 in April-June 2016, registering a year-on-year growth of 3 per cent. Major importers of Indian spices in FY 2015-16 were US, China, Vietnam, UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, UK, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and Germany. Worldwide, food trends are changing with a marked health orientation. Since organic foods are free from chemical contaminants, the demand for these products should steadily increase in the new millennium. Organic cultivation is nothing new to India. Government of India has announced a few schemes under which 100 per cent export-oriented units can be set up any, where in India. The subject of the scheme is to promote to export of manufacture goods. Under this scheme special concession and facilities are provided to entrepreneurs desirous of setting up 100 percent export units. Fruit Wine

Fruit wines are fermented alcoholic beverages made from a variety of base ingredients (other than grapes); they may also have additional flavors taken from fruits, flowers, and herbs. This definition is sometimes broadened to include any fermented alcoholic beverage except beer. For historical reasons, mead, cider, and Perry are also excluded from the definition of fruit wine. Fruit wines have traditionally been popular with home wine makers and in areas with cool climates such as North America and Scandinavia; in East Africa, India, and the Philippines, wine is made from bananas. Fruit wines are usually referred to by their main ingredient (e.g., plum wine or elderberry wine) because the usual definition of wine states that it is made from fermented grape juice. Being fruit-based fermented and uninstalled product, wine contains most of the nutrients present in the original fruit juice. The nutritive value of wine is increased due to the release of amino acids and other nutrients from yeast during fermentation. Fruit wines contain 8–11% alcohol and 2–3% sugar with energy value ranging between 70 and 90 kcal per 100 ml. The consumption of Wine in India is found to be increasing with rise of awareness of wine as a good drink for health. The wine market of India observed growth with a CAGR of more than 25% in past five years. Growing popularity of Vineyards as tourism places, higher disposable incomes and growth in foreign tourists, promotion of wine as beneficial to health etc. are some of the reasons for such growth. Global travel and expose to other countries where drinking wine is a part of the lifestyle are also helping to drive the sales of wine in India. The global wine market was valued at US$ 296.03 billion in 2016 and is slated to reach US$ 404.64 billion by 2025. The market is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 3.23% during the forecast period (2017-2025). Still wine segment held the majority of market share with around 83% among product types in 2016, while red wine was the preferred option among all customer groups. Changing taste and new preferences among consumers and rising demand for new and exotic flavors such as Riesling wine and other tropical fruit wine is fuelling the growth of the wine market. The market for sparkling wine segment is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.94% during the forecast period owing to increasing consumption of champagne during social celebrations. Asia Pacific is projected to witness the fastest growth in the wine market with countries such as China, India being the key contributors in the region. At a global level, China stands to be the largest market for alcohol consumption with the country also being one of the leading importers of wine worldwide. The ongoing recovery of the Chinese economy, growing upper middle class population and the rising disposable income is further expected to boost the consumption of wine in the country.
