Focusing on the practical use of biological systems to produce goods and services, biotechnology has made significant achievements in the growth and its application in the areas of agriculture, healthcare, environment, etc through R & D projects and infrastructure creation.

Today products like biofertilizer and biopesticides using the biotechnology techniques have proved that biological control is widely regarded as a desirable technique for controlling insects and pests, due to its minimal environmental impact and its avoidance of problems of resistance in the vectors and agricultural pests. The biopesticide market makes 5% of the total insecticide market, amounting to one billion US dollarsthus accounting an overall growth rate of about 10% per annum but in India biopesticides represent only 2.89% (as on 2005) of the overall pesticide market in India and is expected to exhibit an annual growth rate of about 2.3% in the coming years .Although the biopesticide market accounts for only about $1 billion of the global pesticide market of $33 billion it is expected to continue to grow rapidly and a huge biodiversity of sources remains untapped.

In the same way vermicomposting is compatible process with sound environmental principles that value conservation of resources and sustainable practices and vermicompost is known to bethe world's best organic fertilizer. The practice of organic farming is said to the best known alternative to the conventional method. While trends of rising consumer demand for organics are becoming discernible, sustainability in production of crops has become the prime concern in agriculture development.

The Industrial enzyme market is growing steadily as most of the enzymes are produced by microorganisms in submerged cultures going by the biotechnology technique. Also integrated Biogas Systems have a significant role to play in the development of agro ecological farming systems as these systems can provide a valuable and diverse product slate from existing biowaste resources available in the form of manure to most traditional rural households.

Biomass Briquettes from Bio Waste

Among the non-conventional forms of energy, Bio-Energy offers vast potential under Indian conditions, due to the wide spectrum of BIOMASS available in different agro-climatic regions of the country. Worldwide, the energy stored in biomass through photosynthesis is approximately 3x1021? (90% in trees) every year, which is nearly 10 times the world’s annual energy use. Even through the total renewable biomass resource for energy far exceeds the world’s total energy requirement, its volume exploitation remains limited because of the present low cost of fossil fuels, the heterogeneous nature of biomass, and the area over which the biomass must be collected for large-scale applications. Biomass feed, especially agro-residues, is available in different forms, such as husks, straw, and stalks of various and numerous crops. Due to this heterogeneous nature, the utility of these materials for energy becomes limited, and energy conversion processes tend to become biomass specific. Biomass briquettes are a proven way of generating energy from bio-waste. Different types of waste have been utilized in order to develop biomass briquettes. Biomass briquettes derived from Mustard, Cotton, Guar, Saw Dust and Peanut shell Agro waste could result in feasible on-site fuel production. Biomass briquettes can typically provide between 3-15 per cent of the input energy into the power plant. The objective behind the move, is to reduce air pollution caused due to burning of surplus biomass residue in fields by creating an alternate market for its large-scale utilisation in power plants as well as reduce carbon emission from coal-fired power plants. The global Biomass Briquette market is valued at 320 million US$ in 2017 and will reach 570 million US$ by the end of 2025, growing at a CAGR of 7.3% during 2018-2025. The global biomass briquettes market is segmented into North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific. Of these regions, Europe and North America are expected to be key regions for the growth of this market over the forecast tenure. The utilization of the biomass briquettes production technologies is high to convert their biomass into useful energy sources.

Manufacturing of Vermicompost and Organic Manure.

Manufacturing of Vermicompost and Organic Manure. Profitable Investment in Organic Natural Plant Nutrient Industry. Vermicompost Vermicompost is the product of the decomposition process using various species of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast. Vermicast is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by earthworms. Vermicomposting is a type of composting in which certain species of earthworms are used to enhance the process of organic waste conversion and produce a better end-product. Vermicompost, or castings, is worm manure. Worm castings are considered by many in horticulture to be one of the best soil amendments available. The nutrient content of castings is depends on the material fed to the worms--and worms commonly feed on highly nutritious materials, such as food waste and manures. Vermicompost (vermi-compost, permaculture) is the product of the decomposition process using which is used to remove organic matter, pathogens and oxygen demand from wastewater or directly from black water of flush toilets. Vermicompost is the product of the composting process using various species of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a heterogeneous mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast, also called worm castings, worm humus or worm manure, is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by an earthworm. These castings have been shown to contain reduced levels of contaminants and a higher saturation of nutrients than do organic materials before vermicomposting. Vermicompost, or vermiculture, most often uses two species of worms. Type of Vermicompost: - Africa Night Crwlers Vermicomposting, Lumbricus Rebellus Vermicomposting, Others. Vermicompost is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by some species of earthworm. Vermicompost is a nutrient-rich, organic fertilizer and soil conditioner. The process of producing vermicompost is called vermicomposting. It is the excreta of earthworm, which is rich in humus. Earthworms eat cow dung or farm yard manure along with other farm wastes and pass it through their body and in the process convert it into vermicomposting. Organic Manure Organic fertilizers are fertilizers derived from animal matter, animal excreta (manure), human excreta, and vegetable matter (e.g. compost and crop residues). Naturally occurring organic fertilizers include animal wastes from meat processing, peat, manure, slurry, and guano. Organic manures are natural products used by farmers to provide food (plant nutrients) for the crop plants. There are a number of organic manures like farmyard manure, green manures, compost prepared from crop residues and other farm wastes, vermicompost, oil cakes, and biological wastes – animal bones, slaughter house refuse. Organic fertilizer is a mixture of decayed organic matter. It is usually made by gathering plant material such as leaves, grass clippings, and vegetable peels and animal waste into a pile or bin and letting it decompose with the help of earthworms, fungi or bacteria. There are three types of organic manure animal, green, and wood ashes. Using some of each will give your garden the best possible soil and grow the best vegetables. Related Projects: - Fertilizers, Fertilisers, Inorganic Fertilizers (Mineral Fertilizer) Uses The use of organic-based fertilizers in sustainable agriculture benefits farmers, growers, consumers and the environment in many ways. As empirically demonstrated, organic-based fertilizers help to:- ? boost both nutrient efficiency and organic matter content in the soil ? nurture the soil with organic matter that reduces dependency on chemical inputs ? restore and maintain soil fertility to nurture plant growth ? enhance the biological activity and biodiversity of soils ? enhance the quality attributes of produce as well as yield ? improve the efficiency of nutrient use to produce more robust crops ? facilitate the slow release of nutrients in response to the dynamic needs of plants ? boost the efficiency of water use to render crops more resilient and drought-resistant ? Reduce the impact of farming and safeguard ecosystems by minimizing leaching. ? Enhance crop resistance to erosion by improving the soil’s organic matter content. ? Improve the efficiency of resource use by incorporating natural raw materials. Advantages:- ? Soil Structure ? Microbes Thrive ? Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly ? Reduce Fertilizers and Pesticides ? Plant Damage Threat Avoided ? Vermicompost is rich in all essential plant nutrients. ? Provides excellent effect on overall plant growth, encourages the growth of new Shoots / leaves and improves the quality and shelf life of the produce. Market Outlook Rising demand from agriculture farming for vermicompost is majorly driving the overall growth of this market. However, high maintenance expense under study period is limiting the growth of this market. High demand from several sectors such as home gardening and horticultural industry is anticipated to boost growth of this market in near future. Vermicompost, or vermiculture, most often uses two species of worms: Red Wigglers or Eudrilus eugenae rarely found in soil and are adapted to the special conditions in rotting vegetation, compost and manure piles. Vermicompost industry has much fragmented, manufacturers are mostly in the India and Southeast Asia. Among them, India Production value accounted for less than 9.50% of the total value of global Vermicompost. Global organic fertilizers market is expected to flourish at a CAGR of 6.9% during the forecast period. Further, the global organic fertilizers market is anticipated to reach at a valuation of USD 6.3 Billion by the end of 2024 from USD 3.1 Billion in 2016. Rising awareness about the long term benefit of organic farming and increasing adoption of eco-friendly products is anticipated to drive the growth of the global organic fertilizers market. Pectin from Citrus, Lemon and Oranges

Pectin is a naturally occurring substance (a polysaccharide) found in all plant tissue, calcium pectin being present between the cell walls and serving as a strengthening or building agent. Fruits naturally possessing relatively large amount of pectin include lemons, bitter oranges, apples, quinces, currants and plums. Pectins are a class of complex polysaccharides found in the cell walls of higher plants, where they function as a hydrating agent and cementing material for the cellulosic network. They are commonly produced during the initial stages of primary cell wall growth and make about one third of the cell wall of dry substances of dicotyledonous and some monocotyledonous plants. The main exceptions are the cell walls of the Germaine family, which may contain pectin of normal structure but in very small amounts. In recent days, pectin has found increased application as an additive to dairy products. Yogurt containing fruit bases has been growing in popularity. Substituting pectin for modified starch as a thickening agent in yogurts will maintain a uniform distribution of fruit throughout the yogurt without masking delicate fruit flavors. Furthermore unlike starches, pectin will not introduce a floury texture to yogurts. If the fruit bases contain 60% sugar, then HMP can be added. If the sugar content is lower than 60%, then ALMP is added. HMP stabilizes casein against a predation, when heated a pH less than 4.3. Thus it is added as a stabilizer in ultrahigh-temperature-treated yogurt drinks and to milks blended with fruit juices. Although the industry for pectin is rapidly growing driven by rising demand for processed and convenience foods, growing preference towards functional foods from various health conscious consumers have also played a key role in the growth of the market. In addition, the industry has been witnessing demand for low-calorie and low-fat food products from consumers resulting in more demand for pectin from food manufacturers. Based on these factors, pectin is considered as an essential food additive due to which the market is liable to increase significantly. The global pectin market has grown at a CAGR of around 6% during 2008-2015. Market for pectin has been witnessing significant growth on account of rising demand for food products from developed as well as developing economies. The industry has been mature in developed regions such Europe, followed by North America. However, the industry for pectin is anticipated to grow rapidly in emerging economies such as China and India owing to change in lifestyle of the individuals as well as changing consumer preferences for convenience foods. Moreover, economic development in China has resulted in increasing purchase power of consumers, leading to increasing demand for high-quality processed foods. Growing health awareness among consumers for functional foods is expected to be one of the major factors driving the demand for pectin over the forecast period. Moreover, multi-functionality of pectin in various dairy and functional foods is expected to broaden their application scope in the food industry, further leading to the growth of the market. However, unavailability of raw materials to pectin as well as fluctuations in the prices of these raw materials is expected to hamper the growth of the market. Cost of raw materials for manufacturing pectin, which includes citrus peel and apple pomade have increased due to risen processing costs and prices of citrus fruits. Pricing and supply of these fruits are significantly affected by the weather conditions with a citrus disease known as “greening” affecting the industry performance. Entrepreneurs who invest in this project will be successful.

Profitable Business of Bromelain Enzyme from Pineapple Stems

Bromelain enzyme refers to a group of enzymes, primarily proteolytic enzymes, derived from the pineapple plant's ripe and unripe fruit, as well as the stem and leaves. Bromelain that is sold commercially is usually stem bromelain. Bromelain is mostly made up of cysteine proteases, with traces of acid phosphatase, peroxidase, amylase, and cellulase thrown in for good measure. There are at least four different types of bromelain. Bromelain is one of the most important protease enzymes found in pineapples (Ananas comosus). Pineapples can be eaten or served raw, cooked, juiced, or preserved. This fruit is perishable and only available during certain seasons. Bromelain is plentiful in pineapple stems and fruits, and it may also be separated in small amounts from pineapple debris such as cores, leaves, and peels. Other proteinases found in pineapple plants, such as ananain and comosain, are present in trace amounts, but bromelain is the most well-known and studied. Its amazing use as a phytomedical ingredient is one of the reasons for its high value. 1. Bromelain softens dough by hydrolyzing gluten when added to it during baking. It also improves biscuit and bread quality and taste. 2. In the dairy sector, bromelain is utilised to prevent casein condensation during the cheese-making process. 3. Bromelain is used to tenderise meat in the meat business. 4. Bromelain is utilised in cosmetics because of its skin regeneration and whitening properties. The global bromelain market was worth USD 37.6 million in 2019 and is predicted to increase at a CAGR of 7.2 percent between 2020 and 2027. Because of increased R&D activities to improve the product's applications in the treatment of cancer, HIV/AIDS, and inflammatory diseases such as asthma, coeliac disease, hepatitis, glomerulonephritis, and autoimmune diseases, bromelain's use in the healthcare sector is expected to grow significantly during the forecast period.

Emerging Manufacturing Business of Bromelain Enzyme from Pineapple Stems. Best Business for New-Startup.

Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme combination generated from the pineapple plant's stem, fruit, and juice. It has a long history of being used to cure medical conditions, mainly in Central and South America. Bromelain can be taken on its own or in combination with other medicines. Bromelain is applied locally to remove dead skin from burns, and it is taken orally to reduce inflammation and swelling, especially in the nasal passages. Bromelain is also used as a digestive aid, to treat osteoarthritis, and to alleviate muscle pain. Bromelain is used as a natural cure for a variety of ailments. Meat tenderizing and other uses: Bromelain, along with papain, is one of the most commonly used proteases for meat tenderization. Bromelain is available as a powder that can be used into a marinade or sprinkled directly on raw meat. Because the enzymes are heat-labile and denatured during the cooking process, cooked or canned pineapple does not tenderise. Pineapple and/or pineapple-derived components are found in several prepared meat items, such as meatballs and commercially available marinades. 1. Knee Pain: In persons with osteoarthritis of the knee, bromelain pills appeared to be no more beneficial than a placebo in reducing symptoms including pain and stiffness. 2. Surgical Pain: Bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapple, has been found to be useful in lowering pain, edoema, and recovery time after surgery. However, it has been discovered that the activities of this substance vary between people and between various tissues within the same person. 3. Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Bromelain hasn't been well tested in either animals or people with IBD. More research is needed to establish if the same alterations occur when colon tissues are exposed to bromelain from within the body. 4. Asthma: Bromelain has been shown to be effective in the treatment of asthma. 5. Cancer: Bromelain may combat breast cancer by activating apoptosis, a sort of programmed cell death required to halt cancer cells from proliferating, according to tests on breast cancer cells. 6. Wound Healing: Bromelain has been studied for its ability to debride burn wounds. Topical bromelain formulations may help remove dead skin from burns, according to a review of clinical evidence. The global bromelain market was worth USD 37.6 million in 2019 and is predicted to increase at a CAGR of 7.2 percent between 2020 and 2027. Healthcare, meat and seafood, dietary supplements, bakery, cosmetics, and beverage sectors are all experiencing growth. Because of increased R&D activities to improve the product's applications in the treatment of cancer, HIV/AIDS, and inflammatory diseases such as asthma, coeliac disease, hepatitis, glomerulonephritis, and autoimmune diseases, bromelain's use in the healthcare sector is expected to grow significantly.
