Best Business Opportunities in Nepal - Identification and Selection of right Project, Thrust areas for Investment, Industry Startup and Entrepreneurship Projects

Nepal encourages foreign investment both as joint venture operations with Nepalese investors or as 100 per cent foreign-owned enterprises. The few sectors that are not open to foreign investment are either reserved for national entrepreneurs in order to promote small local enterprises and protect indigenous skills and expertise or are restricted for national security reasons. Nepal is close to India and China which will have the largest surge in the middle class population in the history of the world. As families become smaller and wealthier, they will start eating well. Meat consumption will rise. It will take more agricultural resources to produce more meat. Buying shares in tourism-related stocks such as hotels, airlines or restaurants is a passive way to tap this potential. You can also open a resort or travel agency in anticipation of the boom. Nepal's exports of mainly carpets, clothing, hemp, leather goods, jute goods and grain

For the past few decades, the major investment opportunities have emerged sure to give us a proper financial result (i.e, collection of the investment and generation of profit from the invested capital) are Hydro-electricity generation, Tourism and Agriculture. Even though there are other sectors and opportunities to invest time, capital and labour in, these three are the most effective and productive in the long run.

Business Sectors

Agriculture Industry

Agriculture employs 76% of the workforce, services 18% and manufacturing and craft-based industry 6%. Agricultural produce – mostly grown in the Terai region bordering India – includes tea, rice, corn, wheat, sugarcane, root crops, milk, and water buffalo meat. Industry mainly involves the processing of agricultural produce, including jute, sugarcane, tobacco, and grain. In trying to increase agricultural production and diversify the agricultural base, the government focused on irrigation, the use of fertilizers and insecticides, the introduction of new implements and new seeds of high-yield varieties, and the provision of credit. Although new agricultural technologies helped increase food production, there still was room for further growth. Past experience indicated bottlenecks, however, in using modern technology to achieve a healthy growth.

Government efforts to boost the agricultural economy have focused on easing dependence on weather conditions, increasing productivity, and diversifying the range of crops for local consumption, export, and industrial inputs. Solutions have included the deployment of irrigation, chemical fertilizers, and improved seed varieties, together with credit provision, technical advice, and limited mechanization.

Agriculture provides agricultural raw materials to the industries and industries produce manufactured or finished products from those raw materials. Thus, we have seen that without agricultural raw materials, agro-based industries cannot run. The development of agro-based industries depends upon the availability of agricultural raw materials.

Hydropower Sector

The perennial nature of rivers and the steep gradient of the country's topography provide ideal conditions for the development of hydropower. Most of the power plants are run-of-river type with energy available in excess of the in-country demand during the monsoon season and deficit during the dry season. Nepal has a huge hydropower potential. Nepal's electricity generation is dominated by hydropower, though in the entire scenario of energy use of the country, the electricity is a tiny fraction, only 1% energy need is fulfilled by electricity. The bulk of the energy need is dominated by fuel wood (68%), agricultural waste (15%), animal dung (8%) and imported fossil fuel (8%). The other fact is that only about 40% of Nepal's population has access to electricity. With this scenario and having immense potential of hydropower development, it is important for Nepal to increase its energy dependency on electricity with hydropower development.

Much of the new hydropower capacity in Nepal will be built with a view to export electricity to meet growing demand for electricity in northern India, offsetting greenhouse-gas emissions by reducing the proportion of coal-burning stations in the electricity portfolio.

Mine and Mineral Industry

Minerals are the nonrenewable natural resources. Sustainable development of such resources helps to strengthen the national economy. Nepal is an underdeveloped country with vast natural resources such as water, minerals, forest, varieties of agricultural products and medical herbs. For the economic development of the country exploitation and proper use of such valuable resources, especially mineral resources, is extremely important. Small scale historical iron, copper, lead, zinc, cobalt, nickel mines and placer gold panning in the major rivers and many slate, quartzite, dolomite and limestone quarries were operational in many districts. Old working pits, audits, smelting places, scattered slag and remnant of mine materials stand as solid proofs of such mining activities in the past.

Limestone is by far the most important mineral resource in Nepal, followed by magnesite, lead and zinc, and marble. Limestone was mined for the production of cement and lime, as well as for construction materials. The mining sector, comprising numerous small-scale industrial minerals mining companies, was the smallest sector of Nepal’s economy.

All these indicate that Nepal is potential for metallic minerals but most of them are sub-economic to none economic prospect/ deposits.

Pharmaceutical formulation, in pharmaceutics, is the process in which different chemical substances, including the active drug, are combined to produce a final medicinal product. The word formulation is often used in a way that includes dosage form. Beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins and the non-penicillin classes, share a basic chemical structure that includes a three-carbon, one-nitrogen cyclic amine structure known as the beta-lactam ring. The side chain associated with the beta-lactam ring is a variable group attached to the core structure by a peptide bond; the side chain variability contributes to antibacterial activity. Beer Plant Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Beer is the world's oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drink; it is the third most popular drink overall, after water and tea. The production of beer is called brewing, which involves the fermentation of sugars, mainly derived from cereal grain starches—most commonly from malted barley, although wheat, maize (corn), and rice are widely used. Most beer is flavoured with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative, though other flavourings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included. The fermentation process causes a natural carbonation effect, although this is often removed during processing, and replaced with forced carbonation. Among the alcoholic drinks, Beer is quite common and popular in almost every Country of the World. Beer is drink primarily as a source of liquid and for its pleasant & refreshing taste; non-the less, its nutritional properties are of great importance. A special use of beer is for the control of sodium intake in the treatment of disease e.g. congestive heart failure, high blood pressure and certain Kidney and liver ailments. The growth of Indian beer industry in recent years has been fast. Some 36 units are manufacturing beer in India. The Indian beer industry has shifted towards the strong beer segment. As the sector is heavily licensed, any changes in the tax regime will affect the growth of this segment. Accelerated growth would also be possible with liberalized licensing for manufacturing and retailing. Few Major Players are listed below: • Appollo Distilleries & Breweries Pvt. Ltd. • Arlem Breweries Ltd. • Arthos Breweries Ltd. • Associated Breweries & Distilleries Ltd. • Aurangabad Breweries Ltd. • Blossom Industries Ltd. • Buckingham Distilleries & Breweries Ltd. • East Coast Breweries & Distilleries Ltd. • Hindustan Breweries & Bottling Ltd. • Kalyani Breweries Ltd. • Kool Breweries Ltd. • Lilasons Breweries Ltd. • Malabar Breweries Ltd. • Mysore Breweries Ltd. • United Breweries Ltd. • Winsome Breweries Ltd. Market Outlook Beer is a rapidly expanding segment in the Indian alcoholic beverages industry. It is the third largest market and second fastest growing market in the Indian alcoholic beverages industry. Beer market has been segmented into strong beer and mild beer on the basis of their alcohol content. Strong beer which has alcohol content more than 5%, dominates the Indian market stating its popularity and preference. Beer sales in India are expected to see an annual growth of 7.5 per cent over the next five years despite regulatory hurdles, as rising disposable incomes in the hands of middle class will lead to higher spending. In 2016, consumption of beer in India was 4.6 litres per capita as against 57 litres per capita of fast-growing economies in Asia. Global beer market is expected to garner $688.4 billion by 2020, registering a CAGR of 6% during the forecast period 2015-2020. Production of Aluminium Fluoride Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

Aluminium fluoride (AlF3) is an inorganic compound used primarily in the production of aluminium. This colorless solid can be prepared synthetically but also occurs in nature as minerals rosenbergite and oskarssonite. Aluminium fluoride is the chemical compound with the formula AlF3. It has the consistency of a white powder. AlF3 is refractory, in strong contrast to the other halides of aluminium. Adding aluminium fluoride to the production process of primary aluminium lowers the consumption of electricity required in the smelting process and thereby considerably contributes to the reduction of production costs of aluminium. Aluminium producers (smelters) are the main users of aluminium fluoride. Aluminium fluoride is used in many industrial processes. It is one of the minor constituents added to the electrolytic cells during the production of metallic aluminium. Aluminium fluoride is used in turning alumina into aluminium. Few Indian Major Players are as under: • Alufluoride Ltd. • Mafatlal Fine Spg. & Mfg. Co. Ltd. • Navin Fluorine Intl. Ltd. • Southern Petrochemical Inds. Corpn. Ltd. • Tanfac Industries Ltd. Market Outlook Aluminum fluoride is white colored or colorless solid powder that can be produced synthetically and is also found in nature with minerals such as rosenbergite. Alumina and hexafluorosilicic acid are among the vital raw materials that go into the production of aluminum fluoride. China is the leading manufacturer of aluminum fluoride across the globe and constitutes significant portion of the global market share. Moreover owing to over exploitation of major raw material sources in China, the production is anticipated to decline in the near future. High GDP growth and increasing disposable income in India and China have led to high growth in several end user industries including automobiles, pharmaceutical, packaging, aerospace, construction among others. High growth in end user industries is expected to be among foremost factors driving demand for aluminum fluoride in the region. Demand for aluminum fluoride in North America and Europe is anticipated to grow at a sluggish rate during the forecast period. Underutilized fluorspar reserves in South Africa coupled with increasing government support to invest in the reserves is expected to drive market growth for aluminum fluoride in the Row region. Moreover, increasing demand for aluminum fluoride driven by high growth in several end user industries in the rapidly industrializing economies of South America and Africa will likely present massive growth opportunities for players in the aluminum fluoride market. Diaper (Baby and Adult) and Sanitary Napkins Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities

A diaper (American English) or a nappy (British English) is a type of underwear that allows the wearer to defecate or urinate without the use of a toilet, by absorbing or containing waste products to prevent soiling of outer clothing or the external environment. When diapers become soiled, they require changing, generally by a second person such as a parent or caregiver. Failure to change a diaper on a sufficiently regular basis can result in skin problems around the area covered by the diaper. Diapers are made of cloth or synthetic disposable materials. Cloth diapers are composed of layers of fabric such as cotton, hemp, bamboo, microfiber, or even plastic fibers such as PLA, and can be washed and reused multiple times. Disposable diapers contain absorbent chemicals and are thrown away after use. Plastic pants can be worn over diapers to avoid leaks, but with modern cloth diapers, this is no longer necessary. An adult diaper (or adult nappy) is a diaper made to be worn by a person with a body larger than that of an infant or toddler. Diapers can be necessary for adults with various conditions, such as incontinence, mobility impairment, severe diarrhea or dementia. Adult diapers are made in various forms, including those resembling traditional child diapers, underpants, and pads resembling sanitary napkins (known as incontinence pads). A sanitary napkin, sanitary towel, sanitary pad, menstrual pad, or pad is an absorbent item worn by a woman while she is menstruating, while she is recovering from vaginal surgery, for lochia (post-birth bleeding), after an abortion, or in any other situation where it is necessary to absorb a flow of blood from the vagina. These pads are not to be confused with generally higher absorbency incontinence pads, which are worn by men or women who have urinary incontinence problems or experience stress incontinence. Menstrual pads may be used by some people for this purpose. ? Why is the Demand for Adult Diapers Predicted to Increase? • Growing aging population • Urbanization • Increased awareness of treatment methods for urinary incontinence • Economic affluence • Improvements in the healthcare sector Market Outlook Rising birth rates have ensured that the baby diapers market, growing at a healthy 18-20 per cent year on year, is estimated to reach Rs. 11,964 crore by 2017, with three nations accounting for the massive jump. The diaper market in West Asia and Africa is growing at a fast clip, with babies in these regions expected to use about 8 billion diapers a year by 2017. In India, the baby diaper market is currently pegged at Rs. 1,400 crore. Supported by favourable demographics with 26 million babies born in India every year, the potential is huge. “The diaper market is experiencing a surge in demand for sanitation products. The diaper market in India is growing with more than 20% CAGR from the last seven years. The healthy growth rate is driven by factors such as millions of babies born per year, higher disposable incomes and the increased hygiene awareness of Indian mothers. Global baby diapers market is expected to garner $59.4 billion by 2020. The global baby diaper market covers different types of diapers provided by the manufacturers within the baby diapers. The different types of diapers manufactured around the globe are Cloth diapers, Disposable diapers, Training nappy, Swim pants and Bio-degradable diapers. The global baby diaper market is anticipated to expand at a CAGR of 4.1% during the forecast period and is expected to be valued at US$ 70.4 Bn by 2024 end. Among all product type segments in the baby diaper industry, disposable diapers are projected to be the fastest-growing segment over the forecast period (2016-2024). This segment accounts for approximately 49.0% of the global volume of diapers consumed; attributed to the availability of improved raw materials and technological advancements in markets in various regions across the globe. Global disposable diapers market size of about USD 64.4 billion in 2014, global disposable diaper market size is expected to reach about USD 84.7 billion by 2019. Global adult diapers market was valued at USD 9,246.36 million in 2015 and is expected to reach USD 14,592.72 million by 2021, growing at a CAGR of 7.50% between 2016 and 2021. In terms of volume, the global adult diapers market stood at 17,689.3 million units in 2015. The global sanitary napkin market to grow at a CAGR of 4.6% during the period 2016-2020.
