i) The HSIIDC had earlier allotted 8 acres of land to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) in IMT Manesar, for setting up Automotive Testing Laboratory, which is being run by National Automotive Testing, R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRIP). Another site measuring 46 acres has been allotted at concessional rates in IMT Manesar. The foundation stone for this facility has been laid on the 4th of June 2010. The availability of Testing and R&D facility at this centre will facilitate further development of auto & auto components industry in the State; 

ii) It is proposed to create a railway siding facility in IMT Manesar for smooth transportation of the manufactured goods from out of the IMT area for export and across various destinations in the country;

iii) The State would encourage establishment of a Logistics Centre Facility in PPP mode or through the private sector in IMT Manesar for efficient inventory management and dispatches by the industries.

The Government of India has modified the Mega Power Policy to smoothen the procedures further.  The modified Mega Power Policy is as follows:

(a) A thermal power plant of capacity 1000 MW or more; or

(b) A thermal power plant of capacity of 700 MW or more located in the States of J&K, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura or

(c) A hydel power plant of capacity of 500 MW or more

(d) A hydel power plant of a capacity of 350 MW or more, located in the States of J&K, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura; 

(e) Government has decided to extend mega policy benefits to brownfield (expansion) projects also. In case of   brownfield (expansion) phase of the existing mega project, size of the expansion unit(s) would not be not less than that provided in the earlier phase of the project granted mega power project certificate.

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their useful life. E-wastes are considered dangerous, as certain components of some electronic products contain materials that are hazardous, depending on their condition and density. The hazardous content of these materials pose a threat to human health and environment. Discarded computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, fax machines, electric lamps, cell phones, audio equipment and batteries if improperly disposed can leach lead and other substances into soil and groundwater. Gurgaon known for being the home to over two hundred Fortune 500 companies and a hub of BPOs, Gurgaon is also the biggest producer of e-waste. A recent study revealed that Gurgaon generates about 8,000 metric tonnes (MT) of e-waste every year, the highest in the country. The groundwater in Gurgaon is contaminated with lead and heavy metals because of the unregulated disposal of e-waste and other solid and liquid waste, says the study.

Haryana, in fact, is still to implement its e-waste policy even after the Central Pollution Control Board notified it long back. The e-waste was growing at the pace of 20 per cent annually in India. It was going up in Delhi region, that includes Gurgaon, at the phenomenal rate of more than 40 per cent, it said. It is estimated that the Delhi region would produce about six lakh metric tons of e-waste annually and would continue to be the highest e-waste producer with Gurgaon contributing to it in a major way.

With the increasing use of computers in households, purchase of mobile phones and television sets, e-waste in Delhi region, including Gurgaon, is going to go up phenomenally, the study says. The study has revealed that IT companies in Gurgaon dispose off about 40,000 computers every year while the country’s figure is 20 lakh computers annually.

Haryana is still to introduce e-waste policy in the state. Unregulated disposal of e-waste has resulted in groundwater contamination in Gurgaon. Haryana government on e-waste disposal, the BPOs and other IT companies are taking initiatives on their own.

GOVERNMENT POLICIES:

A comprehensive law that provides e-waste regulation and management and proper disposal of hazardous wastes is required. Such a law should empower the agency to control, supervise and regulate the relevant activities of government departments. Under this law, the agency concerned should collect basic information on the materials from manufacturers, processors and importers and to maintain an inventory of these materials. The information should include toxicity and potential harmful effects.

•        Identify potentially harmful substances and require the industry to test them for adverse health and environmental effects.

•        Control risks from manufacture, processing, distribution, use and disposal of electronic wastes.

•        Encourage beneficial reuse of e-waste and encouraging business activities that use waste. Set up programs so as to promote recycling among citizens and businesses.

•        Educate e-waste generators on reuse/recycling options

In fact, in many places, it isn’t an alternative fuel at all. LP gas is the mainstay for heating and cooking in certain areas of India and some rural areas of the United States. LPG is a mixture of commercial butane and commercial propane having saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons. LPG is gaseous at normal atmospheric pressure, but may be condensed to the liquid state at normal temperature, by the application of moderate pressures. Liquefied petroleum gas {LPG} is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases used as a fuel in heating appliances and vehicle. LPG is synthesized by refining petroleum or “wet” natural gas, and is almost derived entirely from fossil fuel. LPG Cylinder is an essential item for filling liquefied petroleum gas used for cooling purpose. The body of LPG cylinder is deep drawn in two pieces then these are welded together to make a compact unit without any leak and defect etc. LPG cylinders are in use in 5 Kg., 12 Kg., 14.2 Kg. & 19 Kg. capacities. LPG is primarily used as a thermal fuel and is consumed by industrial, commercial and household consumers. It burns cleanly, releasing very few sulphur emissions, and posing no ground or water pollution hazards. There are over a thousand applications of LPG particularly in commercial and industrial businesses. In particular, LPG is used in the following industries: 1. Industrial customers: for heating purposes where a readily controlled temperature is needed, i.e. motor vehicle paint shops or as fuel for fork lift trucks within warehouses etc. 2. Commercial: This includes, for example, a shopping centre with a number of restaurants which may have one bulk tank with LPG reticulated to individual restaurants/stores. 3. Autogas: LPG can also be used to power motor vehicles. Vehicles that use autogas are fitted with two fuel tanks, one for autogas and another for petrol/diesel. The vehicle can therefore switch between autogas and petrol/diesel at any time. 4. Households: LPG is mainly used by households for heating and cooking. Recently, residential estates have also started installing LPG reticulation systems supplying gas into the different properties inside these estates. LPG bottling plant is a plant where LPG is filled into bottles (cylinders) for storage and distribution among various LPG distributors. The plant has the facility to receive bulk LPG by Tank trucks (of various capacities e.g. 12MT, 17MT etc) or pipeline from a reliable source e.g. Refinery or any other LPG Bottling Plant. After receipt of Bulk LPG, filling of LPG into cylinders is done. A key factor influencing the type and size of filling plant will be where the demand for LPG is in the country. GRAVURE PRINTING CYLINDERS

A gravure cylinder comprises a (typically) steel cylinder base, or an underlying metal structure that supports the engraved image-carrying layer. There are two primary types of cylinder bases: sleeve cylinders and shaft cylinders.
