India is the third largest plastic consumer in the world, with a total consumption of plastics of about four million tons and a resulting waste production of about two million tons. Bioplastics are those plastic materials that are manufactured by using natural resources. There are two categories of these plastics available in the market — biodegrable bioplastics and non-biodegradable bioplastics. Demand for bioplastics is increasing since past decade due to growing awareness concerning environmental conservation, use of bio-based or natural resources for manufacturing materials and formulation of various regulations across countries for effective use of natural resources and waste management. Products and solutions based on bioplastics/biopolymers present interesting opportunities globally. Opportunities are present across a variety of industrial sectors that include packaging, water, beverages, insulation materials, specialty materials and more. The key factor driving the bioplastics market is the need for more eco-friendly and less polluting materials. Other drivers include volatile fossil fuel prices and the need for companies to decrease their carbon footprint across their entire business value chain. The demand for bioplastics has been gradually increasing due to its renewability and availability of raw material, advanced functionality and technical properties, and the recycling options at least some of them present. Uses & Application of Bio-plastics Bio-plastics include single-use items such as plates, utensils, cups, and film wrap plastic bottling and as paper coatings by fast-food companies, clothing fibers compost bags, in the biomedical field, etc. Application areas identified in India for biodegradable plastics are Agricultural Mulch, Surgical Implants, Industrial Packaging, Wrapping, Milk Sachets, Foodservice, Personal Care, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Recreational, etc. Bioplastics are currently used most in packaging, however it has the potential to be used in any application that controversial plastics are used. Manufacturing Business of Medical Disposables

Manufacturing Business of Medical Disposables. IV Cannula. Cannula Manufacturing System The IV cannula itself is a small flexible tube that surrounds a trocar needle used to puncture the skin. The cannula has a fitting that can be connected to more tubing or a port for medication administration once the needle has been removed. Aside from aiding in hydration and administering medication, a cannula can also be used to obtain blood samples for testing. Intravenous (IV) cannulation is a technique in which a cannula is placed inside a vein to provide venous access. Venous access allows sampling of blood, as well as administration of fluids, medications, parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, and blood products. A cannula is a tube that can be inserted into the body, often for the delivery or removal of fluid or for the gathering of data. In simple terms, a cannula can surround the inner or outer surfaces of a trocar needle thus extending the effective needle length by at least half the length of the original needle. It is also called an intravenous IV cannula. Its size mainly ranges from 14 to 24 gauge. Different-sized cannula have different colours as coded. ‘Cannula’ and ‘catheter’ both mean exactly the same thing– a flexible tube inserted into the body to administer or withdraw fluids or to keep another tube patent. Intravenous cannulation is a technique in which a cannula is placed inside a vein to provide venous access. Venous access allows sampling of blood as well as administration of fluids, medications, parental nutrition, chemotherapy, and blood products. In general, the smallest gauge of catheter should be selected for the prescribed therapy to prevent damage to the vessel intima and ensure adequate blood flow around the catheter, which reduces the risk of phlebitis. In an emergency situation or when patients are expected to require large volumes infused over a short period of time, the largest gauge and shortest catheter that is likely to fit the chosen vein should be used. There are four types of IV Catheter: Peripheral Catheter, Midline Peripheral Catheter, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter & Central Venous Catheter. Uses and Applications A venous cannula is inserted into a vein, primarily for the administration of intravenous fluids, obtaining blood samples and administering medicines. An arterial cannula is inserted into an artery, commonly the radial artery, and is used during major operations and in critical care areas to measure beat-to-beat blood pressure and to draw repeated blood samples. IV Cannula has veterinary use, nasal or oral use too. Cannula can also be used for piercing. The common uses are rapid transfusion of blood, transfusion of IV drugs. Gold and Silver Jewellery

Gold is more than a precious metal in Indian culture and is truly entrenched in their belief system. Over centuries and millennia, gold has become an inseparable part of the Indian society and fused well into the psyche of an Indian. Gold Jewellery forms an integral part of Indian tradition. 24 carat is the purest form of gold available on the surface of Earth. Demand for gold in India has witnessed an increasing trend in the past, despite soaring prices of gold for many years now. Gold and silver are considered as sacred metals by Hindus. Silver in jewellery has always been the preferred metal for young people. More recently, because of the high price of other metals, it has become more popular among the middle-aged and the elderly as well. Silver jewellery remains a popular gift item. It is fashionable, affordable and increasingly more personalised. The main occasions for buying jewellery are Christmas, Valentine’s Day and weddings. India is one of the largest markets for gold, and growing affluence is driving growth in demand. Gold has a central role in the country’s culture, considered a store of value, a symbol of wealth and status and a fundamental part of many rituals. Gold in India is also universally valued a store of wealth. That is the other major driver of demand. Gold jewellery products provide a tangible way to preserve wealth while at the same time serving the cultural function of providing decoration and displaying wealth. Indian consumers will always favour gold above other jewellery materials because of its dual role.At steady gold prices, demand for such products will grow faster than demand for gold jewellery products simply because it is still in the nascent stage. Global gold jewellery demand during 2017 increased by 4% to 2,135.5 tonnes (t), the first year of growth since 2013, driven by stable gold prices and improving economic conditions, The popularity of silver jewelry stems largely from the price of the metal. Relative to other precious metals, such as platinum and gold, silver is cheap. China is one of the world’s top silver consumers and its fondness of the metal apparently extends beyond investment interests and manufacturing. China’s silver jewelry market grew 211 percent. This growth has been attributed to exposure across the country’s interior. Urbanization is expected to continue fueling expansion as more retail jewelry outlets open in major Chinese cities. The gems and jewellery market in India is home to more than 300,000 players, with the majority being small players. Its market size is about US$ 60 billion as of 2017 and is expected to reach US$ 100-110 billion by 2021-2022. It contributes 29 per cent to the global jewellery consumption.
