What are the Natural Resources in the Congo

The Republic of Congo has a huge hydroelectric power potential. In 2006, it committed to a $9 billion project with Tri-Star Power of the United States to build a dam on the Sangha River, necessitating the clearing of 40 square miles (103 km2) of rainforest and the relocation of hundreds of people. Residents are opposed to the project, thus it has been put on hold. There is also the possibility of mining, as the country has resources worth an estimated US$24 trillion, including copper, cobalt, diamonds, gold, and uranium. These resources are largely underutilised. The majority of Congolese exports are basic products such as timber, coffee, and cocoa.Bean

The prices are low, and the taxes are low, yet there are still lots of prospective customers and business prospects to be discovered. Consider the Congo if you're considering investing in another country; here's why it might be the perfect choice for your company. What Businesses are Successful in Congo?

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has a population of 68 million people and is one of Africa's largest and fastest-growing economies. With more than 80% of the population living on less than $1 a day, but vast mineral riches and a well-educated workforce, now is a wonderful time to invest in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In recent years, substantial efforts have been made to upgrade infrastructure, including roads and trains. For corporations prepared to take a chance, investing here may be tremendously beneficial. Human capital is also abundant in the country. More over 90% of Congolese are literate, with 50% having finished high school. Due to low pay and high unemployment rates in metropolitan regions, it is simpler to recruit skilled people, who are typically relatively inexpensive. Business-Friendly Policies and Government Initiatives;

The Congolese government has been attempting to make conducting business easier for its residents and investors by introducing a slew of legislation that streamline procedures for public-private partnerships (PPPs). This is a significant step in attracting investors interested in PPPs as a way to fund infrastructure projects.

Congo Industrial Infrastructure

The government is focusing on industrial development in order to enhance infrastructure and build a stronger economy. Free trade zones have also been established by the government in Boma, Matadi, and Lubumbashi. Each year, over one million tourists visit Congo, spending more than $500 million on travel alone. Natural resources such as cobalt, diamonds, copper ore, gold, iron ore, tin ore, uranium deposits, and other precious metals abound throughout the country. These resources have been used for many years, but due to corruption in previous regimes' governments, they have not been effectively developed. As a result, infrastructure funding and upkeep have been neglected, resulting in infrastructure that is now failing. These chances are being seized by a large number of investors. Investing extensively in the construction of new roads, trains, ports, and other infrastructure, resulting in increased economic growth.

Market Size of Congo

For any firm, the entire size of a market is critical. Knowing how big or tiny it is and where you fit into it, on the other hand, can help you spot business chances. With a population of 79 million people and a gross domestic product (GDP) per capita of $2,600 in 2015, Congo may appear to be a tiny market. Congo's GDP, on the other hand, has grown at an annual pace of 7% during the past decade.

Spending power in Congo

There is plenty of room for new enterprises to prosper in this country with a population of over 80 million people and a GDP of over $30 billion. Natural resources like as diamonds, gold, and oil abound throughout the country. This indicates that huge firms are interested in investing in or exploiting these resources. You might be able to collaborate with one of these businesses to attain your objectives. The main problem is that corruption is common, and negotiations can rapidly become convoluted.

Industrial growth of Congo

Cobalt, copper, diamonds, gold, silver, and zinc are among the minerals found in the DRC's mines. The country also contains significant petroleum reserves, however these assets are mainly unexplored. Forestry, farming, and fishing are additional key industries in Congo's economy. Gross domestic product (GDP) growth reached 7.5 percent in 2015, according to reports issued by the National Bank of Congo (BNC). In addition, the research predicted that 2016 would have a 6% growth rate. This is attributed to a rise in mining activity, which helped the economy grow by 4.7% in the first quarter of 2016. In comparison, growth of 2.8% was recorded during the same period previous year. This will be expanded upon. Government attempts to expand infrastructure, agriculture, and the services sector, notably banking services, have helped the economys

Agriculture Storage and Warehousing with Cold Storage

Agriculture Storage and Warehousing with Cold Storage- India Set to see Rs. 45,000 Crores Investments in Warehousing by 2020 A warehouse describes a facility serving the purpose of storing goods. In ecommerce, warehouses are mainly used to keep items on stock to make sure the short delivery times needed can be fulfilled. Agriculture, which is the backbone of Indian economy contributes to the overall economic growth of the country and determines the standard of life for more than 50% of the Indian population. India holds the second largest agricultural land in the world with approximately 179.9 million hectares under cultivation. The country has emerged as a major player in agriculture in the global scenario. Warehousing refers to the activities involving storage of goods on a large-scale in a systematic and orderly manner and making them available conveniently when needed. In other words, warehousing means holding or preserving goods in huge quantities from the time of their purchase or production till their actual use or sale. The agricultural warehousing and food processing industries contribute significantly to warehousing. Warehousing plays a very vital role in promoting agriculture marketing, rural banking and financing and ensuring Food Security in the county. It enables the markets to ease the pressure during harvest season and to maintain uninterrupted supply of agricultural commodities during off season. Hence, it solves the problems of glut and scarcity, which are the usual problems in agricultural marketing. Though warehousing is an independent economic activity, yet is closely linked with production, consumption and trade. Warehousing is now seen as an integral part of the supply chain where goods are not only stored for safekeeping, but also where other value processes are implemented, thereby minimizing wastage and costs. India has total agri warehousing capacity of around 91 MMT at present to store and conserve such large quantities with state agencies owning 41% of the capacity and the balance distributed among private entrepreneurs, cooperative societies, farmers, etc. Agricultural warehousing accounts for fifteen percent of the warehousing market in India and is estimated to be worth INR 8,500 crore. Indian logistics market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 12.17% by 2020 driven by the growth in the manufacturing, retail, FMCG and e-commerce sectors. In recent times, the Indian warehousing segment has evolved significantly, resulting in a gradual metamorphosis from the traditional concept of go-downs, which gradually moved to becoming modern formats of warehouses. This demand shall be driven by a combination of growing GDP, maturing industry segments, GST implementation, rising external trade and share of organized retail. The warehousing sector has seen good growth in past few years due to various reasons. The ‘Make in India’ campaign ran big throughout the country encouraging enterprises to manufacture their products within India. India’s exports have considerably grown, which means the volume of goods being produced locally has increased. This has also propelled the demand for warehouses. The retail business also showed exponential growth because of relaxed FDI norms. This attracted both private and foreign investment. Agricultural warehousing accounts for fifteen percent of the warehousing market in India and is estimated to be worth Rupees 8,500 crore. It is however perceived to be inadequate and unorganized. Warehousing in India has been linked to food security and agricultural growth. Warehousing is now seen as an integral part of the supply chain where goods are not only stored for safekeeping, but also where other value processes are implemented, thereby minimizing wastage and costs. The warehousing market in India is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of ~% from USD ~ billion in FY’2014 to USD ~ billion in FY’2019. This significant growth in warehousing revenue receipts would be due to the major growth in the organized retail industry, commodity markets, and growth in industrial manufacturing and development. Cold Storage India is the largest producer of fruits and second largest producer of vegetables in the world. Cold food storage is the most basic food preservation method. The cold storage facilities now available are mostly for a single commodity like potato, orange, apple, grapes, pomegranates, flowers, etc. which results in poor capacity utilization. A cold storage is a temperature-controlled supply chain network, with storage and distribution activities carried out in a manner such that the temperature of a product is maintained in a specified range, needed to keep it fresh and edible for a much longer period than in normal ambient conditions. This system facilitates long distance transport of various products as well as makes seasonal products available over the entire year. Requirement of cold storage in the next five years may be in excess of 12 lakh tonnes. India has seen a dramatic increase in the production of perishable products including fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry and dairy. It ranks first in global milk production with an annual rate of 138 million tons – and hosts more than 50% of milk product processing. With vegetable production of 280.4 million tons, it ranks second globally and only hosts 6% of total processing. There has also been steady growth in the fish and meat industries due to export potential. Current cold storage capacity in India totals 31.8 million tons. Growth has averaged 3 to 4% over the past 10 years, and 10.5 mil- lion tons of space was created in the last seven years. Ownership is mainly in the private sector, with the public and cooperative sectors only comprising 10% of capacity. The sector’s value is estimated at $6.5 billion (USD) and market growth has averaged between 15 to 20%. This pace is expected to be consistent over the next five years. Currently, India has 6,300 cold storage facilities unevenly spread across the country, with an installed capacity of 30.11 million metric ton. These are mostly used for storing potatoes. However, the market is gradually getting organized and focus towards multi-purpose cold storages is rising. More than 50% of the cold storage facilities in India are currently concentrated in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Indian cold storage market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 16.09% by 2020 driven by the growth in the organized retail, Indian fast food market, food processing industry and e-commerce sectors. Cold storage market in India is expected to be worth US$ 8.57 billion by 2020. The cold storage market in India is highly fragmented with more than 3500 players in the unorganized sector and around 30 players in the organized sector. The global cold storage market size was valued at USD 73.96 billion in 2016. The market has benefitted significantly from the stringent government regulations governing the production and supply of temperature-sensitive products. The industry is poised for unprecedented growth over the forecast period owing to growing organized retail sectors in the emerging economies. The retail sector in emerging economies, such as India and China are increasingly getting organized. This trend among others is expected to augment the cold storage market demand over the forecast period. Government policies to de-regulate the entry of foreign player has increased the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the organized retail sector. Consumers are increasingly purchasing frozen foods from the organized retail stores. With the increased demand for the chilled and frozen foods and growth of the organized retail sector the demand for the cold storage market is expected to grow over the projected period. The organized retail supports different outlet formats depending on the proximity from residential and consumption cluster and spending power. The offline mode of the organized retailing is categorized into convenience stores, supermarket, and hypermarket based on the product range and surface coverage. The market demand is expected to increase over the forecast period as refrigerated warehouse continue to get automated. The warehouse automation comprises cloud technology, robots, conveyor belts, truck loading automation, and energy management. Manufacturing Business of Medical Disposables

Manufacturing Business of Medical Disposables. IV Cannula. Cannula Manufacturing System The IV cannula itself is a small flexible tube that surrounds a trocar needle used to puncture the skin. The cannula has a fitting that can be connected to more tubing or a port for medication administration once the needle has been removed. Aside from aiding in hydration and administering medication, a cannula can also be used to obtain blood samples for testing. Intravenous (IV) cannulation is a technique in which a cannula is placed inside a vein to provide venous access. Venous access allows sampling of blood, as well as administration of fluids, medications, parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, and blood products. A cannula is a tube that can be inserted into the body, often for the delivery or removal of fluid or for the gathering of data. In simple terms, a cannula can surround the inner or outer surfaces of a trocar needle thus extending the effective needle length by at least half the length of the original needle. It is also called an intravenous IV cannula. Its size mainly ranges from 14 to 24 gauge. Different-sized cannula have different colours as coded. ‘Cannula’ and ‘catheter’ both mean exactly the same thing– a flexible tube inserted into the body to administer or withdraw fluids or to keep another tube patent. Intravenous cannulation is a technique in which a cannula is placed inside a vein to provide venous access. Venous access allows sampling of blood as well as administration of fluids, medications, parental nutrition, chemotherapy, and blood products. In general, the smallest gauge of catheter should be selected for the prescribed therapy to prevent damage to the vessel intima and ensure adequate blood flow around the catheter, which reduces the risk of phlebitis. In an emergency situation or when patients are expected to require large volumes infused over a short period of time, the largest gauge and shortest catheter that is likely to fit the chosen vein should be used. There are four types of IV Catheter: Peripheral Catheter, Midline Peripheral Catheter, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter & Central Venous Catheter. Uses and Applications A venous cannula is inserted into a vein, primarily for the administration of intravenous fluids, obtaining blood samples and administering medicines. An arterial cannula is inserted into an artery, commonly the radial artery, and is used during major operations and in critical care areas to measure beat-to-beat blood pressure and to draw repeated blood samples. IV Cannula has veterinary use, nasal or oral use too. Cannula can also be used for piercing. The common uses are rapid transfusion of blood, transfusion of IV drugs. Paediatric patients or adults with small veins undergoing long term medication or blood transfusion are subjected to IV Cannula. It is also used on oncology patients undergoing Chemotherapy. Few Indian Major Players are as under:- • La Medical Devices Ltd. • Lifeline Injects Ltd. • Sangam Health Care Products Ltd. • Span Medicals Ltd. • Surgiplast Ltd. Market Outlook The Indian market for peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVCs) is split up into 2 segments: conventional PIVC and safety PIVC. PIVCs are inserted in veins and arteries. An arterial access site is utilized in patients that require blood pressure monitoring. Firmer catheters are preferred for arterial access. A venous access site is utilized for infusing fluids, providing antibiotic treatment and other standard procedures. In 2016, safety PIVCs represented 12% of the total market for PIVCs, with the remaining balance represented by conventional PIVCs. Growth in the unit sales of advanced materials PIVCs is expected to drive gains in the share of safety PIVCs over the forecast period. The global peripheral I.V. catheter market was valued at $3,702.2 million in 2015, and it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.0% during the period 2016 - 2022. The global market is increasing, due to growing geriatric population and increasing incidence of chronic diseases. In addition, the growing demand for injectable drugs in comparison to the oral medications, increasing healthcare expenditure and technological advancements in peripheral I.V. catheter is encouraging the growth of the global peripheral I.V. catheter market.
