| Banana is one of the most important fruit crops grown in India. In respect of area it ranks second and first in production only after mango in this country. Tamil Nadu has the largest area followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka.Bananas are the fifth largest agricultural commodity in world trade after cereals, sugar, coffee and cocoa.
