Gas & Petroleum: Project Opportunities in Gujarat

PROFILE:

The Oil Industry is a very important industry in the world and a lot depends on the price of the oil and it has been observed that whenever the oil prices increase the price of various products also increases. Oil and gas sector is one of the key catalysts in fuelling the growth of Indian economy. With a 1.2 billion population and an economy that has consistently at approximately 8 per cent annually, India's energy needs are increasing fast, warranting a robust demand for oil and natural gas in the country. India has emerged as the 5th largest refining country in the world, accounting for 4 per cent of the world's refining capacity. India exported 50 million tonnes (MT) of refined petroleum products during 2010-11. With our refining capacity increasing further, this figure is likely to touch about 70 MT by 2014, making India one of the world major exporters of petroleum products.

RESOURCES:

Gujarat State is rich in the hydrocarbon resources and is the largest on land producer of oil and gas in country. Gujarat contributes about 18% of country’s total crude oil production. Similarly it contributes about 11% of country’s total gas production. If we compare on land crude production then it is almost 50% of crude and 40% of natural gas from the Gujarat State. Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC) is an oil and gas exploration company in Gujarat, India. It is India's only State Government-owned oil and Gas Company with the Government of Gujarat holding approximately 95% equity stake. GSPC was incorporated in 1979 as a petrochemical company. Today GSPC has become a vertically integrated energy company, excelling in a wide gamut of hydrocarbon activities across India. The largest gas grid will generate opportunities for transmission and distribution of natural gas to domestic and industrial users. Three LNG terminals coming up in the state will provide the fuel for growth. Refineries and petrochemical complexes in operation, invites investment in downstream projects.

GOVERNMENT POLICIES:

The oil ministry has empowered state-run exploration firms ONGC and Oil India to choose customers for gas produced from small fields where output is less than 0.1 million standard cubic meters per day, which would reduce bureaucratic delays and help companies generate revenue expeditiously. Oil India Limited (OIL), a Government of India Enterprise, under the administrative set-up of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, is engaged in the business of exploration, production and transportation of crude oil and natural gas. The growing demand for crude oil and gas in the country and policy initiative of Government of India towards increased E&P  activity, have given a great impetus to the Indian E&P industry raising hopes of increased exploration. The government in order to increase exploration activity approved the New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP) in March 1997 which would level the playing field in the upstream sector between private and public sector companies in all fiscal, financial and contractual matters. There will be no mandatory state participation through ONGC/OIL nor there did any carry interest of the government.   In order to increase the exploration and thereby enhance the production of oil and gas in the country the Government of India liberalized the hydrocarbon sector. With the announcement of the liberalization policy in the hydrocarbon sector by Govt. of India for the oil and gas. Pursuant to the signing of PSC many private Exploration and producing Companies started the petroleum operations in the State and thereby the activities in the hydrocarbon sector have increased. In order to cope up with the increasing activities Government of Gujarat created the Office of Directorate of Petroleum to monitor various activities of exploration and exploitation of oil and gas, their production and royalty paid thereon by various organizations in the State of Gujarat. Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC) is an oil and gas exploration company in Gujarat, India. It is India's only State Government-owned Oil and Gas Company with the Government of Gujarat holding approximately 95% equity stake. Today GSPC has become a vertically integrated energy company, excelling in a wide gamut of hydrocarbon activities across India.

Waste management: Project Opportunities in Gujarat

PROFILE:

Waste utilization, recycling and reuse plays a major role in limiting resource consumption and the environmental impact of waste. Recycling is an integral part of any waste management system as it represents a key utilization alternative to reuse and energy recovery (Waste-to-Energy). Which option is ultimately chosen depends on the quality, purity and the market situation. Hazardous waste management is a new concept for most of the Asian countries including India. The lack of technical and financial resources and the regulatory control for the management of hazardous wastes in the past had led to the unscientific disposal of hazardous wastes in India, which posed serious risks to human, animal and plant life.

RESOURCES:

Gujarat is an ideal location for an effective functioning of the projects, which depend on reasonable volume of generated wastes, waste characteristics, public acceptance and potential network of the industry for the zero discharge of the waste. Gujarat is characterized by wide spread industrial establishments, robust infrastructure development and stable socio-political environment. The industrial development has remained and is the robust backbone of Gujarat’s economical and industrial prospects and a driving force of a future economic growth. In a meantime, the rapid industrial development throughout the state has lead resulted in generating abundant industrial wastes which need proper care in pollution mitigation and recycling in and around urban centres of Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Surat etc.

GOVERNMENT POLICIES:

National policy on waste management is set out in the October 1998 policy statement on waste management - Changing our Ways. It outlines the Government's policy objectives in relation to waste management, and suggests some key issues and considerations that must be addressed to achieve these objectives. The policy is firmly grounded in an internationally recognised hierarchy of options, namely prevention, minimisation, reuse/recycling, and the environmentally sustainable disposal of waste which cannot be prevented or recovered.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Unit (Beta-Lactam and Non-Beta Lactam) Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study

Pharmaceutical formulation, in pharmaceutics, is the process in which different chemical substances, including the active drug, are combined to produce a final medicinal product. The word formulation is often used in a way that includes dosage form. Beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins and the non-penicillin classes, share a basic chemical structure that includes a three-carbon, one-nitrogen cyclic amine structure known as the beta-lactam ring. The side chain associated with the beta-lactam ring is a variable group attached to the core structure by a peptide bond; the side chain variability contributes to antibacterial activity. Various industry reports suggest that the pharmaceutical sector in India has been growing consistently at the rate of 13-14 % every year. India enjoys an important position in the global pharmaceuticals sector. Beer Plant Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Beer is the world's oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drink; it is the third most popular drink overall, after water and tea. The production of beer is called brewing, which involves the fermentation of sugars, mainly derived from cereal grain starches—most commonly from malted barley, although wheat, maize (corn), and rice are widely used. Most beer is flavoured with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative, though other flavourings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included. The fermentation process causes a natural carbonation effect, although this is often removed during processing, and replaced with forced carbonation. Among the alcoholic drinks, Beer is quite common and popular in almost every Country of the World. Beer is drink primarily as a source of liquid and for its pleasant & refreshing taste; non-the less, its nutritional properties are of great importance. A special use of beer is for the control of sodium intake in the treatment of disease e.g. congestive heart failure, high blood pressure and certain Kidney and liver ailments. The growth of Indian beer industry in recent years has been fast. Some 36 units are manufacturing beer in India. The Indian beer industry has shifted towards the strong beer segment. Production of Aluminium Fluoride Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue

Aluminium fluoride (AlF3) is an inorganic compound used primarily in the production of aluminium. This colorless solid can be prepared synthetically but also occurs in nature as minerals rosenbergite and oskarssonite. Aluminium fluoride is the chemical compound with the formula AlF3. It has the consistency of a white powder. AlF3 is refractory, in strong contrast to the other halides of aluminium. Adding aluminium fluoride to the production process of primary aluminium lowers the consumption of electricity required in the smelting process and thereby considerably contributes to the reduction of production costs of aluminium. Aluminium producers (smelters) are the main users of aluminium fluoride. Aluminium fluoride is used in many industrial processes. It is one of the minor constituents added to the electrolytic cells during the production of metallic aluminium. Aluminium fluoride is used in turning alumina into aluminium. Few Indian Major Players are as under: • Alufluoride Ltd. • Mafatlal Fine Spg. & Mfg. Co. Ltd. • Navin Fluorine Intl. Ltd. • Southern Petrochemical Inds. Corpn. Ltd. • Tanfac Industries Ltd. Market Outlook Aluminum fluoride is white colored or colorless solid powder that can be produced synthetically and is also found in nature with minerals such as rosenbergite. Alumina and hexafluorosilicic acid are among the vital raw materials that go into the production of aluminum fluoride. China is the leading manufacturer of aluminum fluoride across the globe and constitutes significant portion of the global market share. Moreover owing to over exploitation of major raw material sources in China, the production is anticipated to decline in the near future. High GDP growth and increasing disposable income in India and China have led to high growth in several end user industries including automobiles, pharmaceutical, packaging, aerospace, construction among others. Diaper (Baby and Adult) and Sanitary Napkins Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities

A diaper (American English) or a nappy (British English) is a type of underwear that allows the wearer to defecate or urinate without the use of a toilet, by absorbing or containing waste products to prevent soiling of outer clothing or the external environment. When diapers become soiled, they require changing, generally by a second person such as a parent or caregiver. Failure to change a diaper on a sufficiently regular basis can result in skin problems around the area covered by the diaper. Diapers are made of cloth or synthetic disposable materials. Cloth diapers are composed of layers of fabric such as cotton, hemp, bamboo, microfiber, or even plastic fibers such as PLA, and can be washed and reused multiple times. Disposable diapers contain absorbent chemicals and are thrown away after use. Plastic pants can be worn over diapers to avoid leaks, but with modern cloth diapers, this is no longer necessary. An adult diaper (or adult nappy) is a diaper made to be worn by a person with a body larger than that of an infant or toddler. Diapers can be necessary for adults with various conditions, such as incontinence, mobility impairment, severe diarrhea or dementia. Adult diapers are made in various forms, including those resembling traditional child diapers, underpants, and pads resembling sanitary napkins (known as incontinence pads). A sanitary napkin, sanitary towel, sanitary pad, menstrual pad, or pad is an absorbent item worn by a woman while she is menstruating, while she is recovering from vaginal surgery, for lochia (post-birth bleeding), after an abortion, or in any other situation where it is necessary to absorb a flow of blood from the vagina. These pads are not to be confused with generally higher absorbency incontinence pads, which are worn by men or women who have urinary incontinence problems or experience stress incontinence. Menstrual pads may be used by some people for this purpose. ? Why is the Demand for Adult Diapers Predicted to Increase? • Growing aging population • Urbanization • Increased awareness of treatment methods for urinary incontinence • Economic affluence • Improvements in the healthcare sector Market Outlook Rising birth rates have ensured that the baby diapers market, growing at a healthy 18-20 per cent year on year, is estimated to reach Rs. 11,964 crore by 2017, with three nations accounting for the massive jump. The diaper market in West Asia and Africa is growing at a fast clip, with babies in these regions expected to use about 8 billion diapers a year by 2017. In India, the baby diaper market is currently pegged at Rs. 1,400 crore. Supported by favourable demographics with 26 million babies born in India every year, the potential is huge. “The diaper market is experiencing a surge in demand for sanitation products. The diaper market in India is growing with more than 20% CAGR from the last seven years. The healthy growth rate is driven by factors such as millions of babies born per year, higher disposable incomes and the increased hygiene awareness of Indian mothers. Global baby diapers market is expected to garner $59.4 billion by 2020. The global baby diaper market covers different types of diapers provided by the manufacturers within the baby diapers. The different types of diapers manufactured around the globe are Cloth diapers, Disposable diapers, Training nappy, Swim pants and Bio-degradable diapers. The global baby diaper market is anticipated to expand at a CAGR of 4.1% during the forecast period and is expected to be valued at US$ 70.4 Bn by 2024 end. Among all product type segments in the baby diaper industry, disposable diapers are projected to be the fastest-growing segment over the forecast period (2016-2024). This segment accounts for approximately 49.0% of the global volume of diapers consumed; attributed to the availability of improved raw materials and technological advancements in markets in various regions across the globe. Global disposable diapers market size of about USD 64.4 billion in 2014, global disposable diaper market size is expected to reach about USD 84.7 billion by 2019. Global adult diapers market was valued at USD 9,246.36 million in 2015 and is expected to reach USD 14,592.72 million by 2021, growing at a CAGR of 7.50% between 2016 and 2021. Toughened Glass Manufacturing Plant, Detailed Project Report, Profile, Business Plan, Industry Trends, Market Research, Survey, Manufacturing Process, Machinery, Raw Materials, Feasibility Study, Investment Opportunities, Cost and Revenue, Plant Economics

Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (a.k.a. annealed glass) creates. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. As a result of its safety and strength, toughened glass is used in a variety of demanding applications, including passenger vehicle windows, shower doors, architectural glass doors and tables, refrigerator trays, mobile screen protectors, as a component of bulletproof glass, for diving masks, and various types of plates and cookware. ?
